Stellaris stuck loading at 31%

When I load the game up from Steam the first time I try it will get to 31% then freeze. When I try to load it a second time it succeeds. I've tried verifying the files but that doesn't work.

I added it to the exceptions of Windows Defender and just now tried uninstalling/reinstalling on Steam and deleting the file in Documents and still nothing.

Please explain your issue is in as much detail as possible.

Right click on stellaris.exe , properties, compatibility. Tick "disable fullScreen optimisations" untick every other box in that dialog, Apply and exit.
Then in the launcher Game Settings menu, select fullScreen display mode, Vsync off, cap refresh rate at 60

If those don't help:
DXDIAG is a program you run from the Windows search box on the task bar. After running it will open a window and start collecting info with a progress bar in the lower-left corner. When it completes click the 'save all information' button and save it to a file then attach that file here. IF dxdiag.txt fails to attach here, rename it to dxdiag.log , or zip it up.

Please attach here your Documents/Paradox Interactive/Hearts of Iron IV/pdx_settings.txt and settings.txt.
From your Documents/Paradox Interactive/Hearts of Iron IV/logs/ folder, attach here system.log , error.log , exceptions.log

It only started happening since I started playing again in late December. However...

It's been three days now and it's seemingly fixed itself? I uninstalled and reinstalled the Paradox Launcher and that seems to have fixed it. I'll save the advice you gave and if the problem rears its head again I'll give it a try.

One addendum that's important to add: I didn't update the launcher after I reinstalled it, so it might be there's a problem some people have with the current version of the launcher?

It is not impossible, although I have no other such reports - as yet anyway! I can start the game under the 2025.1 launcher just fine, for instance.
