I started having a problem where stellaris launches, but then gets stuck on the loading screen. Only a sliver of the bar fills up and there are no percentages in the bar. I can hear sound and after like 10+mins a different sound track plays and the mouse changes but still stuck on the same load screen with no progress.
this happens no matter if its a fresh install (no stellaris files anywhere on the computer), no mods, no dlc turn on/off it doesn't change anything.

ive tried everything from steam discussions and this post threads/stellaris-stuck-on-load-screen.1503714/

From the error log this is a video/graphics issue.

Has this game ever run okay on this machine? Or never yet?

We see several LiveKernelEvents in that dxdiag, which mean the computer was forcibly downed or rebooted. Are they related to this game, or something else?

yes I've been able to play this game before on this computer and I still play other games like lost ark and 7d2d with no issue. The computer hasn't been forced down or rebooted during any game. I have had to use task manager to exit the game when it gets stuck on the startup load screen (if that causes that event log??)

So at other times then, or caused by other apps? Have you ascertained what's causing that? Because it's not good!

Edit that pdx_settings.txt file and find the Renderer line. Change DX11 to OpenGL (exactly like that) , save and exit.

Does that change the problem at all?

There is no Renderer line in that file or DX11?

My apologies, I was thinking of a different game.

In your Steam Library right-click on this game and choose Properties. Click on Set Launch Options, and paste this in there:
-opengl

That should achieve the same thing.
