Please explain your issue is in as much detail as possible.
Ok. So I'm pretty sure this isn't supposed to be happening. My game is not modded. The DLC's I'm missing are: Necroids, Aquatics, Overlord, Toxoids, First Contact, and Galactic Paragons.
I searched the word machine in the bug report part of the forum and skimmed the pages, pretty sure this hasn't been reported before. (If it has, ignore me.)
Here's a TLDR, I'll put the long version after it:
My dumbass vassal dragged my Machine Intelligence ass into a few liberations wars, the results speak for themselves in the accompanying images. Oh, and those empires that were turned into MI's have 4 civics now (didn't notice that one actually till I started writing up this report)
Now for the long detailed explanation.
* Ahem *
So I made a machine intelligence to try out the new council stuff. I decided to also try and form the Galactic Empire, since I've never done before as a not normal empire. I acquired a vassal diplomatically (they asked to become my vassal), and when I was able I extorted a good deal out of them, but I wanted them to remain loyal, so I fiddled with it a bit to keep them happy. This involved setting it so I would be dragged into all of its wars. This was a mistake, on multiple levels.
Fast forward a bit, I got a couple more vassals through war, nabbed a system within good claiming range of a fallen empire, and settled into being the most powerful force in the galaxy, though not yet emperor, I think I was working on it though.
My vassal then drags me into a war with one of their neighbours. The goal was to Impose Ideology, though they did also have a claim. I also made a claim on a system next to the other fallen empire (I try to take both out if I can).
The war goes... well... it goes. It dragged a little. Mostly because I didn't notice that the war involved 2 parties. A Master and a Vassal.
I think, if I remember correctly, I became Emperor during the war.
Anyways, we win and I continue on. I didn't notice it at the time, but I think this is when 2 of the empires I show in the screenshot became Machine Intelligences. Specifically the empires who's screenshots are the Snail with purple flag and the Mushroom with the green-and-white flag.
Time passes and I get dragged into another war. It was a big one. A megacorp (lithoid, teal-pink snowflake flag), their vassal (plantoid, purple-organge quake-looking symbol flag), and a buddy who I think guaranteed someone's independence or something (They're not pictured cause they're still normal I'm pretty sure).
Anyway I trash them with my fleet and pull back to prep for a war against the Fanatic Xenophobe Fallen Empire.
But then I notice something.
They're Machine Intelligences. I poke around, and find that the other two guys I fought earlier are also Machine Intelligences.
Firstly, I laughed. This was weird and funny. then I got confused. How did this happen? Then I got annoyed. I wanted to make that megacorp the imperial charter company. RIP.
I remembered that it was an impose ideology wargoal and it clicked. Er- rather... I think it clicked. Still not 100% sure that's how it transpired, but given what happened it's the only thing that made sense.
I had good intel, so I looked at a few worlds.
Machine Intelligence jobs.
Any alien that was not of the main species was put into grid amalgamation.
The Main species (and also robots, as depicted in the jobs screenshot) took on the work in the Machine Empire jobs.
I waited for the month to tick over, take screenshots, and report this as I was reasonably sure it was a bug.
The I tabbed out and noticed it was almost 3am.
So I resolved to report this tomorrow.
It is now tomorrow and here I am reporting it.
Now for another thing I noticed while writing this report. The empires converted into Machine Intelligences have 4 civics. Pretty sure that's a bug too. You're only suposed to be able to get 3.
Steps to reproduce the issue.
Not 100% sure, but the Organics-to-MI thing happened more than once with enough common threads that I think I know how it happened.
Step 1: Be a Machine Intelligence
Step 2: Acquire a Vassal
Step 3: Adjust the agreement with the Vassal to allow it to drag you into its offensive wars
Step 4: Get dragged into a war to Impose Ideology by your Vassal
Step 5: Win the War
If this works the way I think it did, it imposed my Ideology on the target, and I was a Gestalt Machine Intelligence. Makes me wonder if this can occur if you are an Gestalt Hive Mind empire.
As for the 4 civics thing, I'm not sure, but maybe me being Galactic Emperor has a role to play in that since you get a special 4th civic as galactic emperor. It's the only thing I can think of.
I will also include a copy of my save file, though it's an Ironman save so I'm not sure how much of a help it'll be.
