  • Stellaris
After uninstalling the old launcher and installing the new one (I know now that was the wrong order, but it's what Launcher v1 told me to do), I can't get it to work with Stellaris. When I click the text to say "Game already installed? Select directory" and browse to where Stellaris is installed, it just gives me a "Browse game files" button instead of resume/play game. Same if I click Install and select the existing Stellaris directory. I thought I could fix this by moving Stellaris to the new launcher's default folder and it seemed to work, but when I hit "Update" it didn't update properly and now Stellaris is unplayable broken. It still says version 3.2.2, but features from 3.3 appear in-game and it says the checksum is modified. The menu screens work and the save can be loaded, but when I unpause I get a "whoosh" sound and a blank popup I can't get rid of. Can anyone tell me how to fix this?

Can you do a fresh install with the new launcher instead?

Well yes, but if that's a problem where you are, we could try something different (not quite sure what, I have to admit!).

The thing is this standalone functionality is new and I think a bit experimental as yet - I'd expect it to be more bedded-in in future launcher versions.
