Description
Upgrading from colony at 10 pops makes 1 specialist unemployed

Game Version
2.6.1

What version do you use?

What expansions do you have installed?

Do you have mods enabled?
no

Please explain your issue is in as much detail as possible.
Upgrade the capital building at 10 pops (apparently unemployed pops and workers get picked for the ruler jobs first so this leaves one specialist left). And as there is only one species on the planet its not due to better traits getting selected.
Edit: Also pressing enter when you pressed tab at the game version field/when you wrote it in (and are now selecting the version box (steam paradox...) creates the bug report immediatly without text or anything
Steps to reproduce the issue.

Hi, thanks for your report, could you maybe add your savegame to this thread?

I doubt a save is usefull (unless it is right in front of when it happens which i cant provide right now). But i forgot to mention i had 2 more specialist jobs besides the 2 colonists on both planets where it happened (and ofc some workers all of them meatbags i mean humanoids, fellow organic unit). And they had exactly 10 pops (there was also either one unemployed worker or homeless worker but not both i think).

In case it is still needed one planet will soon finish construction (in 7 days or so). My workaround is to ALT F4 (if i missed the construction) and then disable one colonist job.

And in the howling vortex system (It has an L-Gate) if you zoom in too much it will turn blue (soft of) and if you scroll out carefully and get the dstance right then it will flicker between normal and blue really fast (same save as before). I looked into it when it was fully surveyed but i waiting will be needed.

I have this issue too, in 1.6.1 [65d2]. It's like the Administrator jobs are created and filled before the Colonists are kicked out of theirs, then one Colonist becomes an Enforcer and the other is left unemployed.

Exactly .. yet, upgrading the shelter and after building something, in the opened slot, take care of the unemployed..

Another effect of this is that you can’t pause the game the same day a building gets built to lock a job before it gets filled. So for example if you don’t need the enforcer when you build your capital building, you get another unemployed pop. It’s not a huge deal because I build something that employs specialists in that slot that opens up anyway, but it’s annoying.

Seems like I diagnosed it correctly. If you disable your Administrator jobs shortly after construction finishes, the pops will immediately demote back to workers. Then you can disable specialist jobs and re-enable the Administrators to promote the unemployed specialist pops.

Oh, yes, I have experienced it in 3.0.3 and people on reddit reported it. After colony ship upgrade to administration we get one unemployed “colonist” demoting, because both administrators and enforcer jobs are filled.

My variation is a singler ruler of all my colonies is suddenly jobless after loading a save in late game, very annoying.
Colonies with Branch Offices would be my guess.

Yes, there was criminal syndicate who built office on all of my colonies.
I bet nobody leaves a criminal syndicate infestation alone long enough to thoroughly test how it worked on re-load.

Suggest you make a separate thread to report that, it sounds legit.

I was so tired when play it and unconsciously overwrite the save file so i have no proof to make a thread, but when this happen again in future i might posted it.
