Please explain your issue is in as much detail as possible.
Bit of a curious one I ran into there:
On my second game as a Machine Empire (after a failed start in the first one; don't abduct and vivisect your neighbours if they got 3 times your fleetcap), I just unlocked Destroyers and designed one. Adopting the same naming scheme as in my first game, I was intending to use Deci, Centi, Kilo, Mega, Giga etc as ship names, referring to their size.

Except that I can't name my Destroyer 'Centi' because that name is allegedly already taken by a ship design. There is no ship design visible in the designer for that name though.

My suspicion is that there is a 'hidden' default design for one of the not yet unlocked classes, which has the name Centi. Because, go figure, I came up with the naming idea (in my first game), because one of the default generated names for my ship types was Centi in that game (so "Centi" is likely on the namelist).

Steps to reproduce the issue.
Start a game, use the ship designer and try saving designs with all possible default names from the used name list, a couple should be unavailable (assigned to not yet unlocked/visible auto-generated ship types).

That would be a another potential explanation.
