The newest 4.0 update has made this game a right pain to open. Every time I open it, it instantly pins every core on my 9900 to 100%. 10% of the time it takes 20 seconds to load, and 30% it takes a minute or two. Aces. 50% of the time it takes multiple minutes while getting stuck at different percentages (5%, 31%, 66% for example) and freezing my whole computer, including visually freezing any other apps on my computer (Firefox, Discord, etc.), occasionally freezing audio, and making it near impossible to pull up task manager and kill it. Obnoxious and concerning, but overall fine I guess.
The remaining 10% of the time, however, this game fully locks my computer up; stuck at 5% loading, the same ~1sec of sound will loop over and over, everything freezes, and the only solution is forcefully shutting down my computer. This sucks. I have to make sure nothing important is happening on my computer, because when I open this game I might be forced to lose anything else I had running since it can't launch properly. I've closed clipping software, I don't use any mods, and my computer's resources will be entirely untouched, and yet something about this aggressive fast loading strategy seems to be a major issue.
I've been so happy that the daily patches have fixed just about every out-of-sync multiplayer issue my friends and I have come upon up to this point, but this issue is making just opening the game way more concerning of a hassle than it needs to be.
