DirectX Version: 9.0

Other:

I read the stickies but I still have the following problem:

I was running out of space doing downlo9ads of large avi home movies and burning them to disk to preserve them so I stupidly deleted crusader off my pc manually. When I tried to reinstall I kept getting repair/remove option but no matter which I choose it won't let me go farther to reinstall the game. I have used 6 different registry programs and manually searched my registry myself deleting every reference to crusader, paradox and strategy first. I did the same with regular hard drive best I could removing even shortcuts, strat menu icons and so forth yet it still will not allow me to reinstall. I have even tried copying the disk to my hard drive and reinstalling but since I guess the default destination is hard coded it still sees the old install somehow. It still only gives option to repair or remove neither of which fixes the problem and both of which leave fragments in the registry after chosing which I end up deleting all over again. I even on a lark tried to install the patch again when mad because my pc seemed to insist the game was still on my pc...patch cancels saying it is not and I need to instal it to patch it :( All I want to do is play my game...if there is something I can edit after copying it to my hard drive to change it's setup parameters or something I am missing somehow in removal please help :)

Does it do anything if you choose to repair the installation? At least in my experiences repair seems to do pretty much the same as reinstalling.

no, reparing doesn't appear to do anything except add crusader references to my registry. After that I try again it still gives same 2 options repair or remove whether I re-delete those entries or not

Remove the installshield files.

Obviously we are missing a file.
Do you have or did you have it installed in another drive or folder?
Also make sure you redid the registery after trying the repair install.

did a "find" in registry eliminating any ref to crusaders and install shield, did a "search" of hard drive for crusader and eliminated every file it found...tried to install again still get the remove/repair screen same as before :( only have to 1 hard drive installed at this time.

Did you select the option on your system to show hidden files?
Try also searching for Paradox and strategy First, and CK both in the registry and the Installshield folder.

Has to be a registry entery you are missing then.

Should not be, are you using regedit to seach?
Try CK try All the ones you mentioned again.
Crusader worked fine for me.

yes i used regedit :( using all the above names just wish there was something in the install files I could edit to allow it to overlook the presence of whatever ghost it sees and allow me to instal it anyway

Have you tried the repair install then the auto uninstall?
