I'm currently playing a game as Italy and its now June 22nd 1942. I've just finished annexing Turkey and was preparing to fight a long war with the Soviets in the mountains to distract as many divs away from the Germans as possible and maybe get to Baku and that giant pile of oil
At the same time however, Nat Spain joined the Axis, and Germany had kept about 15 division at Gibraltar thus bottling an equal number of allies... However, they seem to have redeployed ALL of those divisions to the Eastern Front thus leaving Spain extremely vulnerable... That seems to me an unforgivable move as now Spain is in great danger and I am currently frantically redeploying around 12 divisions west leaving me even more overstretched than I already was... Hopefully, there will be a silver lining in that I may be able to snag a lightly defended Gibraltar and significantly weaken the allies prior to the US entry to the war...
Still, I am left wondering if the AI is supposed to do that? I was hoping to try and establish a foothold in the Caucuses by winter, but now that seems unlikely and quite frankly, I'd rather take out the Soviets than get Gibraltar first...
Also, can you please address the Nat Spanish AI's love of ignoring Gibraltar as well... They have a brief window where there are between 1-4 divs there to make an aggressive move that would be possible with a little luck... however, they just give almost all their divs to Germany who then throws them into garrison duty, or worse sends them all the way to the East leaving Spain helpless when Germany decides to abandon Iberia abruptly. Note: I also noticed that Germany redeployed a substantial number of troops from the Turkish battle before it was finished, it didn't really matter as they were already on the run and being picked apart.... but still...
I would post a screenshot by I don't believe that would be necessary and I need to go to sleep as it's 1:53 here and I have Arabic tomorrow morning... yay...
Thought I'd post this though and see if it's a problem or god forbid is intentional...
