We just had a very unhistorical game. US, Germany, Italy and Sovjet Union were played. US player was very inexperienced. Knowing that I decided to end the game quickly. :) I played Germany, attacked France and simultaniously landed in UK in March '36. By summer '36 I had set up Vichy. However, my transports were sank by the British, so I couldn't advance but UK couldn't throw me out either. My advance was further hindered by the fact that UK built ~150 militia after my landing. :D

I noticed that US still had only 5 divs in early '37, so I landed in Canada and after I had shipped 10 mech inf there I attacked and conquered US in no time.

After a reload the US player took control of UK. This actually did help me quite a lot. :) I couldn't break through the AI defences, but the human player would just throw a suicide militia wave after the other against me and therefore allowed me to conquer UK in no time.

SU took its only chance and DOWed me shortly after I attacked US. Italy and I managed to stop SU outside Berlin, and after a few decisive battles SU surrendered in autumn '37.

Oh, wow - that must have been one of the first victories of Axis I have heard of :)

When all major Nations are played by humans the sea superiority of the Allies makes life not easy for the Axis, though.

Human played UK and US should be pretty safe from invasions since they should be able to cut off supply. But I was also already thinking about chances of invading the US early.

The only way I see it would be if all 3 Axis try to keep a supply corridor open. But if they fail they are in big trouble ;)

USA Invasion

The Japanese navy is twice the size of the US Navy. If the Japanese mass their entire navy, and the germans and italians give the Japanese their navies, and they make one huge fleet, the british better mass their navy and give it all as an expeditionary force to the americans to make one combined huge fleet, because otherwise, the axis navy will crush the american navy then deal separately with the british navy.

America cannot rely on its navy to protect it from invasion.
