Hi, 2 friends and I have started a game 2-3 days ago, we have played that save twice (the starting session and another one since), yet tonight they tried to join me as usual but they were stuck on the transferring save loading page. The % changes randomly every time but always stop on some low percentage (highest in over 10 tries each was 4~%) so we tried:

- trying to join via steam, took waaaay longer than through the game browser, and always stops the download at 0.00%
- we have let the game run for 10+ minutes on a couple of tries to see if it was just slow, it didn't change
- no downloads in background, we already played before so it shouldn't be the ports
- we all play through steam
- tried joining a lobby, as if we'd start a new game, and they could (I don't understand how anyone thought not having a lobby before loading up a saved game was a good idea)
- verified everyone's integrity with Steam, nothing wrong found or any effect in loading up
- tried through the multiplatform thing too, still nothing
- we tried launching the game on admin, nothing
- we then tried, being very delusional and tired of it, to just try again, as normal, with different saves (normal and quicksaves), we got up to 80~% person there was a "failure to connect to host" error and then back to only 0.00%

We have been on this for the past 3h, it's 3am here and this is my last hope, so please pardon the delusional ramblings of a tired person.
If anything, we're on the 3.7.3 Canis Minor, latest patch, checksum 462f.

If you tried via both Nakama and Steam MP, this is either a local network issue at one end or the other, or a problem with that particular galaxy.

Can you start and play a new one okay?

Hello!
So uhm, we tried again last night and right now, individually and with both, and without any explanation... it works now!

I have absolutely no clue what changed, maybe it was just restarting our computers that fixed it, but excuse me for bothering xD

I have the same problem with some of the players from my round. And we tried it from several locations with different networks. The transfer problem exist for us since a couple of years already. And we're relatively sure that it isn't a local network problem. And that's because the transfer rate, lobby visibility for the saves and stability of the transfer varies massively. Even on the same day with a few hours difference. In addition it's not always the same player.

We believe it is a server issue, depending on the player/transfer load the server has to manage at a given time. But of course we can't proof it. We can only check our own connections and the transfer rates we could theoretically get and it should be massively more, even at times where the transfer works quite fine.

And we play steam only.

Then it would seem like a good idea to try the Nakama option. Does that help you?

Does that help you?
Indeed! We made multiple tests at different times and while it's not faster than the normal transfer at good times, it works even at times where we don't get any progress with the normal option. So thank you :)

So now a question: Is it possible to increase the transfer rate overall? It seems caped at a certain threshold (with and without nakama option)?

For the problem with Steam MP, you should make sure ALL their required ports are open (not forwarded, open) in all firewalls:

I guess if there was a way to make the transfer rate faster it would be in the game already, rather than having to be enabled in some way. But out of my area of knowledge I'm afraid.
