Stuck paying Homage to Liege

Description​

I started in Messenia and i managed to ursurp the duchy of Achaia, then managed to conquer the duchy of Athens and created the Desporate of Hellas. Then the byzantine emporer was in a civil-war of Independence. I tried too pay homage to my liege twice there, both times it canceled quickly (because of the war? or because his capital was under control of the Rebels?), so i waited until the war was over and tried again, I noticed that the map was showing a travel route. I started to pay homage, and nothing happens, even after 5 years waiting, even worse, other decisions and all activities show me that i can't do them, since i'm busy paing homage to my Liege.

Steps to reproduce​

1. Get the Option to use the decision "pay Homage".
2. Take it.
