You can only do it in the closer combat game mode. To do it hover over the unit then click the but that appears right under it.

its gone, but you also dont have to pay for it. This allows you some new starting formations in close combat as you can have for example cheaper pz. gren in panzer lehr or cheaper scouts with out the sometimes really useless jeep.

Actually i strongly advise you to pick all your halftracks in close combat with Lehr though. Cause it is a part of your cards you'll never be able to bring back. And you need all this support fire early game.
Even the scouts jeeps got a machinegun.

Is there any information if/how infantry does less damage when they lose squad members? There was a reduction in DPS in wargame, but I am not sure how it works in SD.

Infantry doesn't lose damage at all.

My experience is that u have stand 200 m away from obsticales to make shore that the LOS is not prohibited for your AA (surface to air engangement)? Is that true as well or what is the necessary range?

Not sure about 200 meters but yes, you have to stay away from obstacles to engage at max range.

200m seems a bit much, idk. But imo op shouldn't too much bother about engaging at max range. If you start engaging a bit later, you have more chances to actually kill the plane. To effectively kill planes with AA break your line of sight is better and you start shooting planes on sides or on their way back closer to target with more efficiency.
