This mod has been retired/ replaced with a new version. I will no longer update this particular mod.
New version: https://forum.paradoxplaza.com/forum/index.php?threads/sub-mod-colonizable-valyria-revised.1190657/

-----------

Compatible with AGOT version 1.9.1

-----------

This mod will turn the Valyrian lands into ruins that you can colonize. It splits up the land in two kingdoms and several provinces, most of which can be colonized. The terrain of Valyria has also been made green, using the pre-doom terrain as a base, however the islands in the Smoking Sea are volcanic and cannot be colonized.

The kingdom of Valyria is an island nation: there is no land route to Essos. The Lands of the Long Summer are still connected to Essos.

Special events:
- the Valyrian colonies are subject to the same effect as Mantarys, where people can be deformed or go mad.

- the Smoking Sea effects now also apply to the two straits surrounding Valyria

A trade route is included, but I also have an additional mod with improved pathing: http://agotcitadel.boards.net/thread/368/sub-trade-routes-enabled-revised

Holdings+ compatibility version: https://www.dropbox.com/s/2npn7tnmxum76g0/AGOT Colonizable Valyria - Holdings+.7z?dl=0
Use in place of the normal mod, Holdings+ should also be activated.

Not compatible with any other mod that changes the map or landed titles, including the official submods. IS compatible with the Century of Blood!
Also definitely not save game compatible.

All credit to the AGOT team for the official sub mods, especially the Valyrian Freehold.

Okay, so I missed that the new AGOT is out...

I've started working on the update for this mod. Luckily it seems the update looks to be relatively painless, I may have to skip the trade route changes though (since those are a PAIN to work on).

Well, that was relatively simple. Fortunately no new province IDs were added, the mod just reused some old ones for the new provinces so the absolute nightmare of renumbering everything could be avoided.

I just had to re-learn how do to an indexed BMP file for the rivers and terrain files... I̧̻̹͍͈̜͘ͅ ̷̷̭̳̟̙̫̻̖̟ḩ̡̥͖̝̰͇͢a̛̰͡t͟͟҉̯̻̗̘e̢̨̨͈̙̥̼̹ͅ ͚̖̼̦̭t͙̼h̴͕̤a̧͙͖͉͔̭͞t̬͖̞̹͚̺͉͙͜ ̶̱̲̰͔͕͇̹͔͙f̟͉̳̘͖͉̘o̡̢͉̦̪͙̩͓r͔͈̩̠̮̱̹̜m͇͈̗̭̦͘a͢͏̗̞t̷͈̬͎͉̀ ̸҉͉̪̹͉͉̥s̗͕͔͚͞o̸͍͟͢ ̟͍̱̥͙͞m̨͎ų҉̶͓̪̼͙͖ç̠͔̪͕͖͚͎h̶̞̤̤͙͞

All the ruins show as 'Gelios' at the start but will convert to standard ruins as soon as it loads - I could fix this but it's honestly not worth the hassle, it would make keeping this mod compatible with the main mod a million times more difficult.

Mini changelog:
-Now compatible with AGOT 1.8
-Urnebyria is no longer on two islands, there's now a strait crossing between the Bane Coast and Dragonfields instead.
-Removed trade route changes which brought a route to Valyria (for now)

These were already in the mod but I never documented them before:
-Sarne is a navigatable major river
-The upper part of the Royne: Little Royne/Qoyne/Noyne is now a normally navigatable major river
-The Essos lakes Darkwater, Myrwater, and Lake Of Myrth are now actual lakes and not Mare Incognitum

---

I'll see if I can re-do my trade route mod later this week in which case the Valyria loop is returning.
For now, PLEASE test this mod and let me know if it still works fine. If it does, I'm going to update the first post with a proper features list and it's going back on the Workshop.
I think everything is okay but I don't have the time to test it in more detail. The main mod hasn't touched the area so I doubt anything has changed there, but you never know.

People on the Citadel forum found some problems, so I updated the mod.

Additional changes:
-Problem with the wildling provinces are now fixed
-Made Valyria ruins less rich, provinces only have the basic three settlements. Build the rest yourself.
-Finally made the ruins work right even on the scenario selection screen
-Updated Smoking Sea effect to the new one from the main mod, it is now also properly disabled if the game rule for Absurd Events is set to off

-Invisible change:
-Copied Valyria dragon egg event to colonize_valyria_events.txt, removing the need to edit the main mod's unoccupied provinces file

I still haven't had time to intensively test it but I did a bit of playing as Volantis and colonizing the lands works.

After some more testing I'll reupload it to the workshop and change the first post.
