Hey so I was wondering given that dragons are now treated as friends, why can't animals be treated in the same way? Instead of a trait, why not have an actual animal NPC that follows you and interacts with you through events and the like. Perhaps you could bring them hunting, to battle or to a tourney depending on what kind and breed of animal they were. One would also have to look after them, train them etc and this would decide what their personality traits could be like. Dragons could also use this feature if it could be implemented!
One could also use them in a much more healthy way as well, perhaps if you're depressed you could go to them and spend time with your companion, play catch or burn a few crops here and there, this could have a chance to remove your depression or stress or even heal serious wounds faster, after all science has shown that animal companionship is an excellent way to begin the healing process in peoples of all ages.
It would also be cool if one could name them like wise with dragons too.
What do people think?
