Hey so I was wondering given that dragons are now treated as friends, why can't animals be treated in the same way? Instead of a trait, why not have an actual animal NPC that follows you and interacts with you through events and the like. Perhaps you could bring them hunting, to battle or to a tourney depending on what kind and breed of animal they were. One would also have to look after them, train them etc and this would decide what their personality traits could be like. Dragons could also use this feature if it could be implemented!

One could also use them in a much more healthy way as well, perhaps if you're depressed you could go to them and spend time with your companion, play catch or burn a few crops here and there, this could have a chance to remove your depression or stress or even heal serious wounds faster, after all science has shown that animal companionship is an excellent way to begin the healing process in peoples of all ages.

It would also be cool if one could name them like wise with dragons too.

What do people think?

Animals are dragons to!!! lol
Fair enough, I just think it could add potential for better individuality of characters and interesting features to the game.

Also had another idea, you could set your animals to guard you or your relatives, protecting them from assassination, not preventing it, but perhaps adding a modifier of sorts

I like the idea, particularly for direwolves. I rather enjoy having dynastic dragons. I created a Goldfyre and Fyreblood dynasty and sent them off to Asshai and the Summer isles with their own dragons so if the Targs die out at least their dragons won't. Would feel the same for other beasts too I guess.

I was the first to suggest this back during the thread where the dragon mechanics were announced, and I was told (nicely) that it was very unlikely to be put into the base game. You might be able to mod it in yourself, though, go ahead.

I'm experimenting with modding at the moment actually, its rather fiddley process haha! That said this kind of stuff is probs to advanced for me just yet, but hey we'll see! :D
