I have a new part - a very small one this time that simply gives the York province a port.

NHO York Port Access

Description:
Redraws the borders around the Humber estuary in order to put a port there for the York province. Also makes a strait crossing between Lincolnshire and the East Riding since the York port access breaks the direct (river crossing) connection.

Dependencies:
CK2 2.6.3, HIP Hades6 (SWMH required)

Download:
Direct
(01-12-16)

I also have a few fixes for Names and Localisation:

- Corrected a couple of Anglo-Saxon names.
- Restored the connection between Æþelræd the Unready and his father (and thus the rest of the Wessex line).
- A few other minor fixes/changes.

NHO Names and Localisation

Description:
Reworks Norse character and dynasty names as well as title and province/holding localisation.
(Also includes Balto-Slavic and Finno-Ugric character titles replacing "High Chief" and corrections to Anglo-Saxon and Scottish names and titles).

Dependencies:
CK2 2.6.3, HIP Hades6 (SWMH required)

Download:
Direct
(01-12-16)

PS. All changes are save game compatible.

Just want to thank you once again for your work. Great quality immersive stuff, absolutely 'must have' for Northern Europe. Hope you will keep it updated and add even more nice things for later era.

Thank you for you support (all of you)!

I actually considered renaming the new iteration of NHO "Northern Heritage Overhaul" because of the broader scope, with the amount of changes to Finni-Ugric, Baltic, and Celtic cultures as well. But I suppose the main focus is still on Scandinavia (which is my speciality anyway), and the changes to neighbouring cultures are needed for full immersion when playing these Norse and Norse-derived cultures.

Did you ever do anything to the Cumbrian and other Celtic cultures in Britain? Mostly talking about title localizations. I'm gonna install this mod again, since I'm getting back into CK2.

Hey, Mundane.

I've hardly touched the Cumbric localisation, ufortunately. Only very briefly for the old, full version. I would've looked into the Cumbric dynasty names, but I haven't since I know the HIP team is already on it: See here.

Is there a way the parts could be uploaded to another website? I can't seem to access them no matter what I try, my browser can't seem to load the page and when it finally does it just is blocked for Security reasons but I'd love to download them.

Damned. I haven't had any problems with this site, but I suppose there always comes a time when uploading-sites stop working properly.

Try accessing them from these links instead if you can:

Names and localisation: https://files.fm/u/4fqeyxna
York Port Access: https://files.fm/u/a9z4pvvz
Icelandic Republic: https://files.fm/u/n685f5nq

If they don't work, I'll upload them somewhere else as well, and I'd be interested to know what country you live in. Sometimes it's a national block, other times it's the internet provider, etc.

EDIT: They don't work properly for me either now!

I've reuploaded them to the forum instead (check the first post).

Thanks for notifying me!

It's not something I plan to do. Firstly I think the ARKO pack does a pretty good job with the random ones, secondly there's no basis for Norse CoAs for these early titles or dynasties other than my imagination (which I dare not trust with this) the only exception being the raven banner which was apparently widely used.

Love this mod and thanks for all your work on it. Just wondering when you are planning to (re) release the melting pot part of it as the addition of scottish culture was a great plus to the game?

I'm currently not producing anything new, but I will keep the mod parts up to date in case of updates. The addition of the Scottish/Scots melting pot is planned, but it's one of the bigger projects since it requires a lot of work in the history files (and deciding which characters should be Albanaich and which should be Scots) - not to mention all the play-testing and balancing.

The Scottish melting pot would be a really nice addition...
Can't wait for this.

NHO should be entirely compatible with Hades7, no changes should be required (do report any issues if they are encountered).

I don't know why this isn't in the base mod already. ;)

Perhaps you should stop beating a dead horse already. It really isn't fair to erilaz that you guys keep directing this towards him (which you are by posting this in his thread), if you really feel like this should be in base HIP, then direct such requests towards us instead.

As for some of his content getting integrated, we did integrate large parts of his Icelandic character history. But we didn't agree with his choice of making Iceland into a Merchant Republic, so we made it Feudal Elective instead. So for those of you that would like it to be a Merchant Republic, there will always be a need for his submod

Hey mate.
We guys ??? it's my second post to his thread. Why the drama ? no need for that.

Also i wasn't aware that by posting my appreciation for his work I'm doing something unfair.
Thanks for clearing things up though about the full integration to HIP but I'm taking mostly about the names and localization indeed not the Icealand part of his mod.

Cheers.

Well background information is in order then Greek Strategos, if you don't know about this. Erilaz have been confronted with a LOT of talking about he should try and get his submod integrated into base HIP more or less from his very first release. And at this point it really isn't fair to him to bring it up again. So i apologize that i came down hard on you, but i felt like i needed to protect erilaz a bit here. It really isn't up to him if anything gets integrated, so it isn't fair to him to keep putting him in the spot on the question of integration.
