I noticed that Paradox games has almost practically covered a whole swath of timeframe from early Middle Ages to the beginning of Cold War era with Crusader Kings, Europa Universalis, Victoria, and Heart of Iron. That being said, I would suggest Paradox add bookend music at beginning and end of the era from next or last game to signify transition.

Example:
I had set up my CK2 to play EU4 music as additional soundtracks when year 1400 arrives to signify beginning of the end of medieval era. Then in EU4 game, from 1444 to 1500, I set it to play CK2 music and then from 1800 on, I set it to play Vicky 2 which symbolized the Industrial Revolution in the earnest. And then I had Vicky2 set to play EU4 music from 1836 to 1840, although that's probably a stretch. I have not yet played HoI3 but I would probably add Vicky2 music for 1936 to 1940.

Basically the idea of bookend music to signify either past that we just came out of or new era in the future that is impending. In case of CK2 music playing in EU4 before 1500, it reminded me of the medieval past that we just came out of. And then EU4 music after 1400 in playing CK2 tells me the early modern era is about to begin. I feel that bookend music would be good thematically to convey the future or past in a given game. I would just suggest add only these games' theme music as bookend music. Not really necessary to add other soundtracks that came with them.

I fully support this idea. Music is such a powerful medium. In addition, you could perhaps hire the bulgarian composer (Borislav Slavov) that did music for Knights of Honor? That guy is very talented.

I mean hear this. HEAR THIS.
This easily ranks up to the level of Age of Mythology, Age of Empires II, Warcraft 3 (<3) and Rome: Total War as far as epicness goes.

You need this man if he still breathes and composes music. He will bump up your music by at least a bajillion levels.
