Ok admitted. I´m a paradox fanboy. I noticed it lately. EU3 is completely aweomse and I do like Victoria 2 too. About the other games.. They all look cool too and I am interested in Hoi3, CK2 and so on as well and will buy them too anytime soon.

In my opinion paradox has the only potential in the niche of more complex genres and not so boring games. So, what I really would love to see paradox creating is something like the game "Capitalism" or "Industry Giant 2". I talked about it with a friend today on the telefon and he said too "Which dev should create something like this if not paradox?". There is no other dev team with potential. They all create boring mishmash. But stuff paradox made, can give you hours, days, weeks and month of gameplay. That´s if I talk about Eu3 for example.

So I really see potential that paradox could code something like either "Capitalism" or something like "Industry Giant 2". You dont even need to buy the licence. Create your own brand name for the game.

Also I wonder why you never thought about creating a city building simulation? At the moment there is no competitor on the market. I played Sim City 5 beta and this game has no potential. I even find Sim City 4 better then Sim City 5.

In fact, my opinion and the opinion of some friends is that you would not have any competitors in al lthese sectors like economy simulation, grand strategy anyway not,... I mean there is no real competition if we talk about iso perspective games. You could be the on big name people miss... in some cases like strategy you are already. Why dont you explore some other simulation genres with something like a iso-perspective? Really... IG 2 and Capitalism would be your last competitor but they are so old that it is rare that people still play it due to compatibility problems like screen resolution and so on.

A friend told me about cities in motion and I have seen videos. This is already pretty cool and one reason why I think you could create a more detailed transport simulation with economy simulation. Really.

Catch this marked... you maybe laugh now but I am someone with over 20 years gaming experience. I have discovered great games you could create remakes. Even without buying licenses of died companys. You simply could create your own names. Economy games are a niche atm. It would be your sector.

I really ask here.. would you buy a paradox game if they create a new name, a game which is similar to industry giant or capitalism? I bet hundreds of people would because there is nothing new on the market. It is a really big niche and I wonder why you dont capture this train. Who else should do that? EA? I have to laugh.

The thing is you are the only one who have a community who search for complex games. After reading the forum here again and again, and after playing your games, it seems that your community is happy about your complex games. This is rare. You have the community already for such a game, and the tools, and the devs with hefty potential. The only game company left on the planet who creates serious games which make you spend hours over hours...

Think about it. There are several niches you could make a hell of money with. I bet something like an industry giant would sell like a hell. :)

Totally agree, there is a rather large gap in the market for economy/city building sims rightnow.
The only one that shows any kind of complexity would be CitiesXL, and that is abit of a mess in itself due to bugs that have existed since the start of the series.

Economy? Not after the economic disaster that was V2. Just let the guys do what they do best, don't assume, that their skills are freely transferable from one genre to another ;)

I think it could work. We just have to change the parameters into the type of game PDS has experience with and obviously enjoys making.

A multiplayer game where you build up your cities...and then take over everyone else's!

Only, you wouldn't use armies - most countries frown on their towns going to war with each other. No, this war is fought with special interest groups, media campaigns, political machines, smear campaigns and so forth.

I'd buy it. :D
