- rebalance of country size on tech speed. A small disparity is fine, but often I see OPMs with double the military tech level of European powers, this might not be such an issue except...

Actually, can I edit this value myself in one of the files? I'd like to test out changes myself. Is it Country_Invest_BoostSize?

I like to see the AI much less reluctant to annex provinces when it doesnt have cores on it and instead choose to vassalize or ask ducats, this does happen sometimes but not so often as i would like to see.

No, that governs the instant investments from the buttons along the left of the research screen. All of the tech cost formula is currently hardcoded except the DoF penalty.

Okay thanks Mike.

It's just a notion of mine right now, so does anyone else see tech disparity as annoyance or am I the only one?

I find the whole technology (and economy) concept annoying. I doubt any country in the world during the whole FtG timeframe paid even half as much for research as for military expenses. Most never had any governmental research at all. Yet here I am, funding all sorts of research, if only to avoid inflation...
Albeit since most players have become accustomed to the EU2 research/economy system, I doubt there would be many happy with a fundamentally different approach, even if it was a much more realistic one.

MichaelM, I hope you can concentrate on more urging matters than small "fixes" for hopelessly inadequate EU2 leftovers.

1. Ability to sell/trade provinces when at peace
2. Ability to request more money in a peace deal then what the loser has (he can take a loan for all I care)
3. <might edit something in later>

Read the rules, people.

  1. Alternative gift feature - ability to send money without having to resort to a loan or the relation-improving gift. Money in the range from 0 to maximum treasury with no need of acceptance or any side-effect at all.
  2. Ability to trade provinces while at peace - Giving and receiving provinces with the need of accepting.
  3. Ability to mod the effect of Domestic Policy sliders

those 3 would be great for multiplayer

Please fix broken Tlemcen/AlDjazair for Vanilla 1419/1492

For Version 1.3, I would like to see a fix to the obviously broken situation of Tlemcen/AlDjazair/Ottomans in Vanilla Mode. Please look into it?

Vanilla 1.2 ---- Tlemcen does not even have an events file. So it has zero chance to ever become ALD. And this situation is complicated by the Ottomans having events tied to ALD (AlDjazair) but not to TLE (Tlemcen). So what ends up happening in the Vanilla 1419 and Vanilla 1492 Scenarios is that Algeria (ALD) is a 'ghost nation' that never comes into existence, and also that Turkey has dysfunctional events that are waiting to vassalize a ghost nation (Algeria/ALD) that will never appear.

(1) When a merchant succeeds, fails, or is ejected for a COT, the pop window that contains the button "go to" should take you directly to that corresponding COT screen, NOT as is currently the practice, to the map view that contains the COT icon. This cumbersome, non-streamlined approach
adds yet another layer of micro-management and yet another extra click of the mouse and is therefore unnecessarily tedious. Ftg interface would be better served if it were simplier, direct and more immediate.

1. A multiplayer that works with everybody.

Can we really expect a 1.3 in the future?

We've gotten two major patches in short order, and Mike is the one who put this thread up I think it seems likely.

At this point we've gotten a lot of ideas out there, so my question is what do you think Michael, have you got any specific plans or ideas that you'd like to implement?

Under-used command = { type = cityname which = x value = "y" }

For Version 1.3 Event files, I would like a small request that gives FtG a little more "polish", and does not take a lot of effort. And I'm not talking about Polish sausages.

In the Events files, PLEASE consider using the following command (this command is under-used ever since EUII):

command = { type = cityname which = x value = "y" }

Perfect example: RUSSIA, Saint Petersburg event. Russia moves to their nice new imperial capital. There is even a very nice "event graphic" (for both Vanilla and AGCEEP). Oh great and neat. But why the heck is the damn city still called "Ivangorod" when you click on the game map????

So with a very simple event command, we could also have changed the cityname from Ivangorod to St. Petersburg.

command = { type = cityname which = 275 value = "St. Petersburg" }

This same command could easily be used in a few other situations. Like when (BYZ) Constantinople falls, and changes into Ottoman (TUR) Istanbul. Or in the small chance that Greece resurrects Byzantium, and renames the city back to Constantinople. There cannot be more than a small handful of examples of cityname changes in the existing events files. I think this is very doable. And clearly, this is something that will make this game look more polished than EU2 ever was.

If this request is considered, please do it for both AGCEEP and Vanilla event files (since I still play Vanilla ;) )

Actually, the cityname command was not underused in EU2 simply because it did not exist in EU2. ;)

Weird. My scatter-brain weakly recalls that this sort of function was possible back in EU2. Then again, you must be right, since the last time I tinkered with EU2 was about 5-6 years ago (I was one of the original event co-writers for Malacca), so my memory on the subject (EU commands/events) is hazy.

My wish list:

1. Different types of land / naval units, something like EU Rome or EU 3, 1000 soldiers each. Maybe, if historicaly accurated, speciffic abilities for some unit types according to tech and nationality.

2. Individualized interface Gfx for each culture group (maybe each country is too much to ask!)

3. Multifigure unit sprites for each nation (a thing i´m just working in for EU2, preparing a patch)
:rolleyes:

It was possible to write in names in the scenario files in EU2 to overwrite the province.csv city name. Only in FtG can this be done by event though.

I want to see some fantasy events for Novgorod when u defeat Moscovy and decline to become Russia.
