Playing Druids DLC, I've encountered a couple issues, which I thought I'd point out in hope that they will not occur in KA2.

I. I completed the quest, which rewarded me with a red dragon, only to find myself instantly disappointed.

Firstly, the dragon could not be mounted by any of my heroes, which, as assassinations of joy go, was a big no-no on my list.

But that was a small problem compared to what happened next. Since the dragon is a single army, there was no way of telling at a glance as to how healthy my dragon "unit" is currently. I couldn't count the dragons left, since there was only one to begin with...Consequently, the thing was either alive or not, unless I specifically stared at the mini icon at the bottom of my screen to read the even more mini diplay of its hit-point status. In the end, it just became too much of a micro-management issue and I outright disbanded him -- good riddance -- as my battles had gone from gripping to tedious.

My suggestion would be to make hydra dragons, so that the number of heads on the dragon would be listed in the same way that enemy units have their number of soldiers clearly indicated. Alternately, each dragon might have a "power" rating, showing clearly how healthy the dragon is...Either way, the thing has got to be mountable by heroes...Else they don't deserve to be called such!

II. In my opinion, light cavalry should be able to deliver more damage, but be weaker defensively since, after all, lack of armor is what makes it light! Even Guardians of Pwyll (a major improvement over the original campaign) somehow manage to be better armored than armed...In my opinion, that proportion should be reversed as there is no reason why a unit of light cavalry armed with sabers/carabellas shouldn't wouldn't cut through a band of archers like a Ginsu knife through squash.

All my best with KA2, Neocore.

You've got a fine game in existence. I am sure KA2 will only astound,

I. Dragons are totally different in KA II than in the expansions of KA. They are not mountable but they are much bigger, stronger and more spectacular. And they fly! You will have smaller flying units with several beasts in one unit but the dragons are too huge, so only one dragon is in one unit. I fully understand your concern but in KA II there is a bar and it shows your dragons hit-point status and you don’t have to keep your pointer on your unit permanently.

II. In KA II light cavalry has more damage points than in the first game but we are still working on balancing.

Thanks for your suggestions.

Excellent info! Thanks for the response.
I. As long as the dragon hit-point issue can be kept away from becoming micromanagement, things will be fine.

II. Regarding light cavalry, I feel that Knights of Manawydan -- poor defense yet impressive attack -- are probably the right elite version of such, although, regrettably, in Druids DLC they are actually considered not Cavalry but a Knight unit...
