Same issue here. Also on Linux Mint, also on GeForce (but GTX 970). I have a "low on resource" warning voice and not a "vehicle battery" (not sure that has anything to do with the crash, but just in case).

Confirmed to crash while loading save file on Arch Linux as well. I can start a new game just fine but if I save it and try loading the saved game I hear a voice that says "sector" then the game crashes. This did not happen before the patch. No issues with ldd.

Looks like this is related to saved games that have current warnings/alerts *and/or* saved games created prior to the patch. I started a new game after the patch and saved it after 9 sols with 0 warnings/alerts. It loads without issue.

EDIT:
I do not have any pre-patch saves without warning/alert to test, nor have I have created a save post-patch with a warning/alert to test. Might do that after grabbing lunch.

OK, I started a new game post-patch to get to an error and test save/load. Before I remembered why I started a new game I hit Sol 28.

Anyhoo, this save has a "Resources Are Low" voice warning when I load it up, but it does load and play without issue. Not sure if the problem only exists with pre-patch started games, but crossing my fingers.

The saves I posted about above were from a new game created post-patch, so it's not just a pre-patch issue.

What I've noticed with my saves is that if I save a game and load that save while I'm still in the game, I have no issues (doesn't matter if it has a warning message or not.) However, if I exit the game and try loading the same save the next time I start the game it crashes.

Also experiencing this. In my case, I was able to load the save after the patch was applied and played for a good while yesterday, but now it crashes when I try to load it. No warning sounds play before crash.
Edit: Running on KDE neon (ubuntu 16.04), GTX 1050 TI.

For everyone having this problem, I found a workaround for it: if you start a new game (easy start will do) and then load your game from there, it'll load correctly, at least for me.
