Please explain your issue is in as much detail as possible.
Built the new large automated storage for 4000 units but I cannot find a way to salvage it. It says that it is impossible for storage with more than 50 units stored but how am I to empty the storage.
I tried turning it off and lowering the priority. Ive built a new one and was hoping for some sort of "transfer" or "empty" option but no luck.
Is this by design or an oversight?

Yes, fill a large storage with more than 50 item and then it cannot be salvaged.
