I have the same issue. When I try to start a new game it crashes.
This is the error message I got.
"Application Specific Signatures:
Graphics hardware encountered an error and was reset: 0x0000001f"

SMC Version (system): 2.19f12

Graphics: Intel Iris Pro 1536 MB

I've gotten a slightly different error message today with the crash:
NSURLConnection finished with error - code -1022

Looking into the logs after disabling the mods + dlc, there's still this:
POPS: [CurlCallManager::update] FAIL '0x7fb5a4956800' http status was none of 100, 200, 304: 404
POPS: [CAchievementsGet] Received errorCode:'Failure'
POPS: [CAchievementsGet] Server returned success code but JSON reply says failure. This might indicate subtle failure modes.
POPS: [CAchievementsGet] Received errorMessage:'resource could not be found'
Lua time 0:00:07:105

Possibly a http call to check for achievements based on the name which is 404ing, weird that the response to that it to kill the game though... Would have thought it could be handled more gracefully.

Alternatively this part could be the cause:

Everyone gets that all the time, it has nothing to do with your problem.

"Application Specific Signatures:
Graphics hardware encountered an error and was reset: 0x0000001f"
That seems pretty clear that this is a graphics hardware or driver problem.

I see you are on OS X 10.11.6, which while supported for this game (just!) has seen video problems right from the start. Would you consider going to 10.13.4 , which presumably has newer nVidia drivers in it?

The alternative would be to get the updated nVidia Webdriver for 10.11.6 .
