Crashes on startup (Linux)

What is your game version?
steam

Please explain your issue is in as much detail as possible.
Fails to launch 100% of time. When launched from terminal you get errors (https://paste.ee/p/RycWd) and it fails to crash back to prompt until ctrl+c'd.

Can you replicate the issue?
100% of time, launch from either steam or terminal.

Hello,

You seem to be running Arch, which is not officially supported.

The errors you show indicate some problem with a script in ./local/share/Steam/steam.sh: line 154: VERSION_ID: unbound variable
This is not something we ship with the game - it's probably part of the Steam client itself?
