The Drones won’t bring materialls to the underground elevator construction site

Please explain your issue is in as much detail as possible.
The underground elevator is not being built. Whenever I try to build it the nearby drones head towards the nearest depo but don't pick anything up. When I try to assign drones to the elevator manually, I get the message "Required materials cannot be found". Disabling mods does not fix it. I was able to construct an elevator at a different location but after it was destroyed by a meteor shower the drones started ignoring it as well (save game blue sun corporation).
Can you replicate the issue?
Yes, simply try to build an underground elevator.
