Description
Game crashing when attempting to start
Windows
SteamWhat is your game version?
PC: 1001514Do you have Space Race installed?
YesPlease explain your issue is in as much detail as possible.
After today's update, game is crashing on startup - launches on steam into a blank white window, then crashes in ~2 seconds.
Have tried - disabling mods, computer restart, verifying game files and game reinstall (after removing files from the Steam install directory). Also tried launching in offline mode, but the same crash happens.
Have attached the most recent crash files - not sure what a map parse error is, but looks like it's not good for my launch success! :) Please let me know if there's any further info I can provide/attach.Can you replicate the issue?
Yes, launching game causes the crash every time.Attachments

Yup same problem as everyone here. This is a software issue, not a hardware one, and no amount of scanning for corrupt files or upgrading to win 10 is going to help. The new patch that they sent is the issue, it has broken and needs to be sorted. Come on paradox fix your patch.
wait so it doesn't mean i have a problem ? and it's only a patch problem ? are you sure ?

It's a problem with the patch that causing the crashes. There are too many people that have the same exact same issue and the only common connection with all of them is the new patch they sent. So you do the math. :)

I was talking to someone who got my ticket and he said, it wont be last longer till the weekend.
But in the end, Win 7 is dying because not supported anymore and developers cant support old systems forever.
Further or less we all need Win 10 :(

Just if this is a Consolation for you all: There are games with a much more worse Support.
Even i live Surviving Mars just after 16 hours, im not mad at all, because my ticket got a really fast and friendly response. It feels like they do something to help.
Other games need DAYS just to answer your ticket.

Take ARK for example.
Usually i started with PVE Servers, but when i had a cheater who was reported by me, he didnt got a punnishment.
I wrote X tickets but they didnt care. They only produced more DLCs and gave a f*ck on old bugs which destroyed the game.
They messed up - how did they apologize? With an Harvest event. Not even with a roleback of the servers.
Now i started Ark again, just to remember the good old multiplayer days - Servers are lagging every 30 sec.
People are HAPPY about that, because its even better than once.
Imagine that. All 30 secs you lose connection, game is lagging, like a diashow, and you are happy about that, because there were even worse days.

In compare to here, they react really fast to tickets and use the forum to tell you whats going on.
Im sure, they wont kick our asses, so be patient, watch some episodes of your fav series, tyt for your old friends you didnt spoke recent and soon it will run again like once.

I have the same problem - new instalation, incl. hotfix, Win10 - only white window for few second and end.
Then you have a different problem than the rest of this thread did - that is fixed.

Please attach here the latest (ONLY!) game log file, from here:
C:\Users\{Username}\AppData\Roaming\Surviving Mars\logs\
To see the AppData folder you'll need to enable View Hidden Items in File Explorer.

Plus, DXDIAG is a program you run from the Windows search box on the task bar. After running it will open a window and start collecting info with a progress bar in the lower-left corner. When it completes click the 'save all information' button and save it to a file then attach that file here.

The log file stops just as the game tries to find the video system. I'm pretty sure the problem here is that Quadro FX video system, which has had no new drivers for 5 years. If you've just bought the game I suggest you seek a refund for it from that vendor.

Sorry about that!

FOUND FIX !!! - for myself at least

Firewall :D

my issue was, every time i started the game, i saw intros and after that - bang and game closes. Made exception to firewall for this game, all works like a charm (and retested also with same results).

No private gaming guys!

for a record:
I have win 10
1080 ti
and about 10 years old cpu
game on Epic

and b 4 that tried everything...uninstall, verify, drivers ... nothing worked...
