Game freezing when directing a drone controller onto cable

PC, Steam latest patch 227,923
Please explain your issue is in as much detail as possible.
I had just constructed a power cable leading from a tunnel and I directed my drone controller to recharge from the cable and when it moved there, the game froze where I could not issues commands or anything. I could move the camera but nothing else.
Can you replicate the issue?
