Please explain your issue is in as much detail as possible.
When I click Play on Steam, both of my displays go black for a moment. Then they come back, and according to Steam, the game is running. However, the game window is nowhere to be found. After a while, game audio starts to play. I can close the game by clicking on Stop in the Steam client, but even if I try to launch the game again, the same thing happens.

Can you replicate the issue?
Yes, every time, simply by starting the game.

Same issue here. Fresh install. Game starts, audio plays, window does not show.

I'm on Manjaro with KDE running an Nvidia RTX 2080 Super.

Tried to post terminal output with system info but the site told me it couldn't post because it looks like spam?

Steam downloaded something for Surviving Mars today, but the problem still persists.

After a tip, I disabled my second screen, and after that the game started correctly. I was hoping to find a windowed fullscreen mode in the display settings, but even in fullscreen mode I was able to quit the game, re-enable my second screen and start the game correctly afterward. So disabling the second display for the first start of the game was the solution. Starting the game does still change reset the refresh rate of my primary display to 60 Hz instead of the 120 Hz I usually keep it at, but at least the game works.

Looks like I was wrong. The problem has returned following a reboot.
