Immediate Crash upon Launch

Mac

Steam

What is your game version?
1.0 (09-21-2021_13:25:41)

What DLC do you have installed?
Space Race, Green Planet, Below and Beyond, Marsvision Song Contest, Colony Design Set, Project Laika

Please explain your issue is in as much detail as possible.
Immediate Crash upon launch-- can't even get to the main screen

Can you replicate the issue?
Launch the game again. I have an m1 mac mini, so it's using the Rosetta emulator. The game files are also stored on an external SSD-- not on my main drive.

I'm afraid this is a current bug in the game, which is affecting some Mac users - but not all!

It is under investigation, and will hopefully be fixed in the next patch or two.

Meantime some users report that reducing the game's graphics settings, or disabling Vsync in the game, has got past it for them. Please try that!

Sorry for that problem.

I redownloaded the game, and it works. As part of the installation process, it asked for permission to access an external volume (the ssd I use for Steam games). I granted this permission.

The game runs.

I then decided to revoke this permission.

It crashed.

If I reenable this permission, the game runs correctly. I suspect that in my case merely updating the game might have disabled this setting.

I have to apologise, I fired too quickly - your problem is NOT the known bug being worked on which is a crash in an LUA thread.

Yours I suspect is peculiar to having the game on a removable volume, a very unusual setup!
