Description
Losing Revealed Techs

Windows

Steam

What is your game version?
1001586

Do you have Space Race installed?
Yes

Please explain your issue is in as much detail as possible.
In order to make the game a little more difficult, I tried doing research without selecting any preferences or priorities in the tech screen; just taking them as they came. If you don't select techs to be researched, the game automatically assigns research to the least expensive, furthest to the left on the tech tree. The problem is that if you have several techs revealed, but not researched yet, say from a New Technologies anomaly or from starting as Europe, when you finish the top research, the game doesn't reveal the next tech down the list unless it is the last tech at the bottom of the column. So if you have three techs in one field revealed, that will drop to two, then one, and it will only reveal the next tech down when the one above it is researched.

Can you replicate the issue?
yes. I have tested it in several different games. It's very easy to duplicate. The easiest test was with Europe. I started the game with the top two rows of techs revealed. I did not choose any techs for research but just outsourced 5000 research for $1M. It researched the top Biotech then the one below it (both 1000 RP, then started on the top Engineering tech. Only one Biotech was left revealed.

If I select techs to research, the revealed techs progress like normal whenever any of the ones above it are completed and the number of revealed techs remains constant.

I'm mostly curious if this is working as intended or did it just slip by.

Well, I don't think that mode of play is intended - I expect that facility is to protect the player from accidentally not choosing any tech and so doing nothing, until they realise. So this mode of play was almost certainly not tested for.

I could log a bug on it but I rather doubt it will be addressed, in all honesty! Did you want me to anyway?

If you don't mind, then please do so. It might just be an oversight with an easy fix.

It seems to work okay, unless I misread your post?

Interesting ... can you clarify for our good friend @ChoGGi_2 please?
