The game IS compatible with MacOS, but that doesn't mean it runs on any hardware that MacOS does - the game's published hardware requirements explicitly state an Intel CPU. Similarly under Windows or Linux; the machine it is installed on needs to meet both the OS and hardware minimums.
Steam normally refund no questions asked if you've had the game less than 2 weeks and have less than 2 hours in "you've played" in Steam. If you've exceeded those then I'm afraid we have no way to make them refund you!
If you have access to a machine with supported hardware you can of course play it there; otherwise we all have to hope that Apple come though with a fix in a future MacOS/Rosetta update.
Hey, guys! So, my colony in Surviving Mars is in trouble, and it's all because of technical issues with the game on my M1 Mac running Mac OS Ventura. I can't even run the game, which means my poor little colonists are stuck on Mars without air, water, or electricity.
And to make matters worse, I just got a message from my colony that they're in the middle of a Martian storm, which means they're now completely cut off from the outside world. I mean, I can't help them even if I wanted to! My little colonists are probably huddled in their domes, shivering and starving, wondering why their so-called commander abandoned them.
Paradox and Steam, if you're listening, please fix this issue soon! I mean, I don't want to be responsible for the deaths of hundreds of Martian colonists, but at this rate, I don't see how my colonists are going to survive much longer. And believe me, I don't think the rest of the universe is going to take too kindly to a bunch of suffocating, freezing colonists popping up all over the galaxy.
So, if you guys could hurry up and fix the game, that would be great. I think I speak for all of us when I say that we're all counting on you. Thanks!
