Description
Randomly crashing

Windows

Steam

What is your game version?
1011166

What DLC do you have installed?
(DID NOT ANSWER QUESTION)

Please explain your issue is in as much detail as possible.
For the life of me, I cannot tell why my game crashes. It does it at random times, on any save, on any SOL date. No DLCs, and I don't use mods. I've been playing this game for over a week, and just been dealing with the crashes, but I can't take it anymore. I'm hoping that providing the files will help shed some light.

Can you replicate the issue?
Sadly, no.

I don't really see anything in those files to explain this, I am sorry. I see nVidia have another newer driver out today, may as well try that.

Assuming that doesn't help, the crash dump looks for all the world like a game bug - except why does it not affect everyone? And why is it random for you and not triggered by some specific action or event, as is typical with app bugs? Very odd.

After one of these crashes can you load the game right up and carry on from the last save? Or do you need to reboot, or wait a while, before it will run again?

If you make a new Windows user and log into Windows as that, doe sit happen there too?

Sorry, I'm going to be working long hours this week, so posts from me will be few and far between. Literally just now, I booted the game up, alt tabbed to type the first sentence, and it crashed. LOL The save has such a small amount of things happening in it that I'm surprised, honestly. I will add the files to this post.

Did that before starting the game up and getting that crash. Even restarted the computer after installing the new driver.

That what I usually do. When it crashes, I usually open the game right back up and start back from my last save. I should have mentioned that it either crashes by closing the game with no error message or the game goes non-responsive and I have to click it a bunch to tell Windows to close it. No idea if that helps.

For this new crash, as I said, it happened in about a minute or two while alt tabbed typing here. I started the save up, sped it up to the highest speed, then alt tabbed. You know what, let me try that again to see if it does the same thing. ... Nope. I even ran it another 3 times with no crash. 2 where all I do is load from the current game, and 1 where I closed the game, then opened the save back up.

If you make a new Windows user and log into Windows as that, doe sit happen there too?

This is something I'm not going to try, sorry. Don't feel comfortable enough to go through all that effort.

Looks the same as the previous, so no advance there.

Please install and run the free utility Speccy. Send its output to a text file and attach that here, thanks.

I've not come across Remote Mouse before - interesting tool! But I doubt that's contributing to your problem, unless maybe you are using it to play.

Disable the Discord overlay though, as a test.

If that doesn't help, the only other thing of concern in there is that there are numerous stuck In Progress or Failed Windows updates going back to 2020 when Windows was installed. It may be time to consider a Windows Reset or full wipe and reinstall!
