Description
Suicidal colonists

What is your game version?
1

Please explain your issue is in as much detail as possible.
Colonists will not wait for shuttle transport if they are trying to move to another dome, instead they will simply run across the surface of Mars, even if their destination is too far for them to make it before they suffocate. Currently they are incapable of using tunnels and it (as far as I know anyway) isn't possible to stop them or collect them, so when it happens you essentially get to watch a counter tick down towards someone dying with no way to stop it at all.

Can you replicate the issue?
Have domes on different sides of the map, and eventually this will happen - there will be a busy period when all your shuttles are working and someone will grow from a child to an adult, decide to move to a free slot in a different dome and begin their inevitable death march.

I'm having the same issue which the colonists weren't waiting for shuttle transport, instead of running to a nearby dome at the different elevation. The colonists just stuck running near the cliff until they run out of oxygen.

I have the same issue, but my colonists are somehow making it down the cliffs. The distances are just too great and so they are suffocating. I just finished building my 75th some and have about 650 colonists.

I saw the same behaviour, but thought it is a feature. You know, there are always some idiots who think they can make it. Or maybe they are really pissed off of their old dome and want to switch at all cost. So the question is if this really is a bug.

But it would be nice to be able to save them with a rover or shuttle.

I just had the same problem, lost 6 colonists as they tried to sprint all the way across to the other side of the map. I have 6 Domes and 4 Shuttles hubs, but they just wouldn't wait for a shuttle to take them to their new home. I'm hoping something can be done about this, other than building a series of small domes every 3 squares as a layover point between domes.

I am experiencing this as well. Hopefully this will be fixed in an early patch as it is a pretty serious bug. I cannot continue my current game as I have a steady stream of colonists walking off to their deaths.

Also experienced this on the (dunno the version) 17/03/2018 build. This happened a lot on many paths between my 2 dome clusters, sidenote: at least 1/3 of my shuttles were idle most of the time so maybe the bug is related to shuttle transport internal acquisition system because i had a lot of them and they weren't really doing their job properly transporting resources either (this was happening with 8-9 hubs with extra shuttles upgrade).

Version 227.831

I've also had a few unemployed colonists die when walking to a dome far far away.
In this case it may be that at the moment of leaving there was no shuttle instantly available, as some colonists do manage to fly to another dome.
