Description
Terrain is transparent in buildings

Windows

Epic Store

What is your game version?
1001569

Do you have Space Race installed?
Yes

Please explain your issue is in as much detail as possible.
When I build certain objects, the ground is transparent and see-through. It looks as though I'm looking through the ground into a Martian rocky abyss below. When I scroll they move differently, making it appear as though I am truly looking through, and down onto a layer of terrain that is below and at a lower level. I did have a lot of mods enabled when I first noticed it, but now if I disable all mods (uninstalled, no... but all completely disabled, yes) and start up a new game, the see-through terrain remains. So I'm not sure if it's an issue with a mod that is still installed but disabled, or if it's an issue with the game itself. Thanks.

Can you replicate the issue?
Yup, just start a new game. Problem is there.

Disabling mods does not remove effects they have already had on the save game file. Do you see this in a new colony started with no mods at all?

Yes, problem still exists. I uninstalled and reinstalled the game, disabled all mods and started a brand new game. Placing down a single dumping site to start the game, and it's still see through.

I just sent an email... I'm not sure I did it right so let me know if you don't get it or if you need more information. Thanks!
Not sure where you emailed it, but please actually attach the file here, thanks.

Oh sorry, I sent it to an email address that was at the bottom of ChoGGi's message about how to send log files. I did uninstall and reinstall the game to start fresh, but before that I was messing around with mods to try figure out which one was causing the problem. So hopefully I did this correctly and the log file isn't too muddled... I'm not all that computer literate so just zipped all the log files that were there. Let me know if you need anything else from me, and thanks for looking into it.

It's easier for me to include how to send me the log, instead of writing it out each time, I should've said to post it here.

Code:
GPU Intel(R) HD Graphics 620 (Feature Level: 11.1 { SAD4ShaderInstructions: True, ExtendedDoublesShaderInstructions: True, })
API d3d11
GPU Driver Version 27.20.100.9171
GPU Driver Package Version 21.1

Oh just made the minimum for gpu :)
Could try updating your drivers, newest is 27.20.100.9466

Not related to your issue, but you seem to have manually installed some mods in the wrong folder:
Code:
[mod] Failed to load mod metadata from AppData/Mods/Code. Error: cannot read AppData/Mods/Code/metadata.lua: File Not Found
[mod] Failed to load mod metadata from AppData/Mods/UI. Error: cannot read AppData/Mods/UI/metadata.lua: File Not Found

Both my Lenovo software and Intel's online automatic update systems said my drivers were all up to date. When I tried to manually download 27.20.100.9466 it said it was not compatible with my system. So does this just mean my computer is too old to run this properly? I don't understand why it ran just fine earlier and now seems to have broken.

And thanks for the info about the mods... I was wondering why they weren't working lol

Perhaps ChoGGI is onto something when he mentioned about you manually installing mods. You said you did a reinstall but if the uninstall didn't clean up the AppData folder then its possible that upon reinstall its reading the same old broken mod data from before.

Perhaps its worth uninstalling and manually removing the Surviving Mars folder from AppData and then installing again. It should be completely clean at that point.

I guess you could also remove the mods folder before a reinstall, see if that works, but it might still be buggy.

Hi guys, got the same issue on my laptop. My laptop is state-of-the-art, never installed mods, just play the vanilla game. My video drivers are up-to-date, game version is up-to-date.

I noticed that it started to appear actually after I updated the display adapter drivers. Sometimes you load the game, all textures are okay, but when you zoom in it seems to load more detailed textures and fails to do that, so the dome floorings and dumping site surfaces are transparent with aka 'default theme sprites' for particular buildings.

Attached the log file

An Intel GPU issue then?
I am not sure, this issues seems to appear on nvidia too. At first I though that this issue regards only Xe Graphics, since this technology is pretty new, so it could be optimized soon. But now I encounter similar issues on forums on Surviving Mars with nvidia, so maybe that is more complicated. Hope this will be resolved sometimes and I enjoy this game without graphical glitches))
