The crashed thread is #25 in LUA, which is the scripting language in the game. Very odd! FYI the game runs fine on my iMac with 11.5.2 also.

What I'd suggest is a full clean reinstall of the game:

- move any valued save games elsewhere; they are under
~/Library/Application Support/Surviving Mars/{large number}/
- "uninstall" in Steam-Surviving Mars
- unsubscribe from ALL mods in the Steam Workshop for this game
- manually delete both the ~/Library/Application Support/Steam/SteamApps/common/Surviving Mars AND ~/Library/Application Support/Surviving Mars/ folders
- re-install game in Steam, run a Steam Verify when done.
- start the game with no mods active and test

In particular you need to make sure there are no files or folders left under either the Steam SM or Application Support SM locations, before installing again.

Good luck with hthat!

Andrew,
Thanks for the reply. It did not work after an uninstall via steam then a reinstall. I have an issue locating the folders and files you describe using the paths given.
Could these be hidden in someway? A spotlight search only located a new Surviving Mars picture folder. A screen shot of the file directory shows what I see in my application Support folder AFTER reinstall. Steam did verify game files. Crash report appears to be the same issue.

I was able to locate the folders and files and perform the procedure exactly as stated above. Unfortunately this also resulted in the same crash starting the game.

Please attach here the latest log from the game :

~/Library/Application Support/Surviving Mars/logs/

To find that file, in Finder do cmd-shift-G to bring up the GOTO box. In there paste ~/Library/ . You will see a /Application Support/ folder, and inside that /Surviving Mars/ and then a /logs/ folder. Please attach the latest file from in there to here by dropping it on this support ticket, or use the "Attach file" link here.

Also in Steam please click on Steam-Help-System Info, and paste everything there into a text file and attach that here

Please find attached the log and computer information you requested. Further information for you. A saved game will play and I can restart the map. The tutorial will work. It just appears to be the New Game initiation that is messed up.

Try putting the game in low graphics mode - does that help?

No I tried preset low graphics and get the same error.
Crashed Thread: 26 Lua

Exception Note: EXC_CORPSE_NOTIFY

I am reduced to starting a saved game and restarting that map in order to play this game I just invested more money in. come on guys sort it out....

Hmm. What if in the Display menu you disable Vsync, then limit frame rate to say 60hz?
