What is your game version?

Please explain your issue is in as much detail as possible.
in one of my domes, my 2 science institue buildings are not working due to lack of workers, but at the same time, my scientists are unemployed.

37 unemployment and at the same time, lots of vacant positions in the same dome!!

what a game :)

or am I missing something, how is the mechanics of this game really?

Can you replicate the issue?

I am having the same problem. It started slowly with 5-10 unemployed at one time, but now it has encompassed 20-50 unemployed PER DOME. It is collapsing my colony because no one will work in the farms. This has happened in my last two saves since the update.

There is no pattern as to which jobs are not being staffed. I have tried manually reassigning but they either kick another employee out (When there are vacancies) or they just leave the next SOL. It has, essentially, made the game unplayable.

Just in case it is applicable, I have the Inner Light mystery. Please let me know how to fix this! Thank you.

I'm seeing unemployed being reported in domes, whereas the global pop info screen says no unemployment, and when I cycle through colonists I'm not seeing any unemployed. Unmodded game, updated to Spirit. There's something screwy with the dome unemployment reporting.

I am also playing on vanilla (no mod, nothing extra except the game itself). On the other hand, I read the job positioning were solved during the last update, but my scientific research halved since 2 days without any reason.

At first, I was able to position myself every worker, afterwhile they are changing the places very arbitrary and I stop doing that since the production were going on (with some little penalty)

However, the latest issue on all of my scientists stop working where there are enough room in scientific buildings caused me to stop playing this game. I like to play this game really, but that job positioning is driving my crazy.

Hopefully, the developers are able to find a oslution for that.

I dont know if this picture helps diagnose the issue, but I spent about 30 minutes basically wiping out the population (which was going to happen anyways) and this is what I found...

The colony tracker (the menu accessible with right click) was displaying a total number of colonists (as well as various demographics such as homeless, and unemployed) that was far lower then the numbers shown in all of the individual domes. Furthermore, as the colony was failing and colonists were starving, the number of total colonists displayed in the tracker (Which is relevant since everyone was starving) and the number displayed to the left in the action item, were vastly different throughout the entire process. Here you can see that on the right it says that I have 4 colonists left, and the action item is saying that I have 46 colonists starving. It should be noted, that when the Tracker displayed 0 colonists is when the game over occured, but to the left the Action Item was still displaying that I had colonists remaining.

It seems, to the layman such as me, that the game has effectively generated ghost colonists, which is why the homeless and unemployment was so high since those slots were taken by said ghosts.

Again, I dont know if this helps at all but I would love some advice on what to do, as this has now caused the failure of two seperate saves in a row and I cant in good faith continue to play until this is fixed.

I do really like this game!
