I bought Surviving Mars and all the packs that went with it... green planet etc. But got frustrated with it because it kept crashing or not working after many hours of play. I haven't played it now for quite some time, at least a year or more. I heard there was an update or a remake of some kind. Is this true and has the game worked out all the bugs. I would love to start playing this again. Can someone please tell me if it's been fixed and where I can download the fixed game.
I appreciate any help.
Thank you

Hard to tell you if the bugs you encountered are fixed without knowing what those were. They've done many updates and bugfixing to the game, but I've personally never had game-breaking bug.

The latest update changes tourism a bit so it's more interesting, nothing ground-breaking but it's more fun to use it now. And in addition a DLC with many buildings was released, larger and smaller versions of buildings already present in the game, plus a few for tourists as well, though now I'm not really sure if these last ones came with the update or DLC.

To download it, you'd need to go to where you purchased it.

Thanks for the replies. The problem I was having was with the game freezing after using the flattening tool. But this didn't start happening until I was well into the game..... hours of play and almost having the planet turn green. Then I had to start all over again because it froze and I couldn't do anything with that game. Had to start a new game. This kept happening so I quit playing it. I was using a few mods but not many. I even tried it without mods and it did the same thing.

I don't think I've heard of that happening (though that isn't saying much), but this new update has introduced a few bugs (mostly colonist related). You literally couldn't play it without mods till the hotfix(s).

There's a new dev team working on SM, and it seems like they were under a tight deadline for that paradox insider event, as some of the issues would be fairly noticeable with a play-through.

The tourist hotel and the Low-G Amusement Park were both free with the update patch.

New Tourist Buildings

  • Hotel: Provide tourists a luxurious place to stay on Mars; spending the night increases their Satisfaction. Hotels can be built after completing the Smart Homes research.
  • Low-G Amusement Park: Provide tourists with the best ways to experience the low gravity environment. Visiting tourists get an extra bonus to their Satisfaction.

Wonder if we can get them to rename the hotel to the "Hotel California"?
