I tried again and managed to successfully install the new version. Evidently something went wrong the first time I used SVN (possibly there were leftover LI files from an earlier install).

thanks,

I am curious why you went with SVN over GIT?

I can't recall who suggested it first - it was either richvh, Darkgamma, Darkreborn, or someone else. Either way, we started using SVN first mostly because it was the first revision control system I was introduced to, and I/we kind of pressured the others to also adopt it

Definitely wasn't me.
now that I think about it, you were absent during that time. the flavour text I concocted at the SVN's googlecode page confirms it :p
(I think I should change that some time to reflect the current state of the mod more heh)

Google Code gives you a 5GB space limit by default (with the option to upgrade to higher limits if you are a serious project, which we aren't. Not as serious as an app or a program I mean). Github's has no limit in theory, but if you go beyond 1GB, you start receiving emails from the staff to cut down the size to 1GB.

So I was trying to get the SVN version but twice now that I have tried to download it I keep getting this error.

ra_serf: The server sent a truncated HTTP response body.

What do I do?

Do a cleanup and restart the download.

Cleanup what exactly?
an "svn cleanup"
right-click your svn folder, then click Tortoise SVN (or whatever SVN client you use), then choose the cleanup option. It should cleanup stuff allowing you to redownload properly now.

alternatively, just delete the entire folder and download from scratch. this is often a simpler approach (assuming you have the BW allowance and time/speed to do so)

I am a fan of SVN in general, and used to use it to stay up to date with CIV 4 mods. But getting to work on Mac has been such a chore, and I've yet to succeed. No one on the team uses that other-other OS, do they?

I'm not running on OS-X, so can't answer absolutely, but have you tried SmartSVN?
