That province in the cold north of Canada -the one with the Swiss- still has, well, those Swiss. And it's a big pop!
In my game it already spawned 2 smaller ones!

In the Victoria alternate timeline, the Swiss citizens of Canada are demanding autonomy from the federal government. The "Wilhelm Tell Association" is even comparing the Canadian Prime Minister with the Duke of Austria.

Such is life. :D

Swiss People is everywhere :)

Even in Swedish Forums

Nope, to be serious, weren't great colonies of swiss people in the new world some normal thing? Look at "New Berne" on the East Coast of the USA...

not in the north of Canada where they are able to spawn new pops (if you know that the normal size of pops there is ca 1000) :p

This has been reported at least a few times. Ross River is the place's name. Are you using 1.03? If so, it's a shame it didn't get fixed.

They are still there in 1.03. Each is at the bottom of the .csv files, one each in the Catholic and Protestant file. I have put them in #810 for now, instead of #10. Rockhampton in NE Australia is missing any POP, while we are at it, actually upon further review, it has a size of zero (gave it one).

Well, there were some Swiss people in Canada because of religious differences, i cant remember exactly but i think they call themselves "krämer" or something like this... compareable to the amish.
Probably they were in Ontario, not the NWTs.

EUnderhill is right. There were very few Europeans in Northwestern Canada in 1836, and certainly not any Swiss.

I have also rediscovered this (still hasnt been fixed obviously) and have, also, changed the province ID from 10 to 810 for both of the swiss pop files. Also as a side note, you have to clear/delete your provs.txt in your victoria directory for this change to have immediate effect. As far as I know the provs.txt is autogenerated as a temporary cache, its safe to delete since.. It Will Be Back (in Arnold's voice).

Just to note, if one download the VIP mod, or uses their refined populations, the Swiss in the Yukon are not a problem.

I am glad to see that Euro pops (beside Brits and the Irish) are moving to Canada. In fact, I would like to see more German pops in Ontario, but that can all be fixed.
Yet I doubt that that many Swiss would want to move to the Northern Territories.
Things must have been pretty bad in Switzerland for people to want to move to the ends of the world.
