Hi,

After playing many hours on the switch, as the game goes on it gradually gets more unenjoyable due to framerate pacing issues, mostly when zoomed in, which is required to make more subtle changes. I understand that it's a feat in itself to get the game on the switch running, but having BETTER performance in undocked vs docked questions the teams priorities here.

My observations:
- A huge amount of trees kills performance. When zooming in the details of trees in the far background seems to take its toll, as moving towards the sea in the background improves performance by about 5fps ish. LOD, or in more sense, draw distance should be reduced when zooming in for trees for start.

- Same applies to shadows. Shadows when zoomed in seems to reach far into the map, the shadow draw distance should be removed based on players zoom (especially at full zoom in).

- I assumed docked is running higher resolution, hence the worse performance docked vs undocked. Lower res on docked.

Other suggestions:
- A performance vs quality preset in settings menu as a result of the above. Reducing res on undocked isnt a good solution though.
- Colourblind options (I made another post about this)
- Light on cursor at night

If it is possible to change the resolution of the 3D world independently of the user interface resolution, some dynamic resolution scaling might help performance as well. A slightly blurrier image is - at least in my mind - preferable to low fps. Within reason of course, there would have to be a proper lower limit to avoid extreme blur.

The other point I would like to mention is the video recording feature. I'm not sure how useful video recording is in this game, but it appears that reserving resources for constantly recording video in the background can affect performance. The Fortnite patch notes reflect this, Fortnite has opted to disable video recording to improve performance. This might be different for each game, but i would imagine that disabling the recording feature would at least free some memory resources.

The recording option is always an issue, this will sound a bit off-topic, but the switch versión of Fortnite had a lot of problems with the performance until the recording option was removed. Maybe with this game the removal of this option can be beneffitial as well.

If recording being disabled improves performance, I'm all for it. Dont really see a need for video recording in Skylines of all games.

Other than that, I dont really see any community/dev feedback on the forum so I guess our cries will go unheard.
