switching between C.O.R.E. and vanilla

Hi everybody,

first of all, great job you're doing here - I appreciate how much time and effort you put into improving this already great game.

Now - since the search function is still not working - my questions:

Since 1.05c is out I (obviously) would like to try a game with it. I remember reading somewhere that you have to rename some folders to be able to play vanilla HoI. Which folders would that be? And can I actually install 1.05c without any trouble while having C.O.R.E. installed, or would it be better to reinstall HoI from scratch?

Thanks for the feedback and the offer of translation help If you could post your offer of help here then we'll definitely contact you for the German translation.

As C.O.R.E. v0.532 may have incompatibility issues with 1.05C (and you will definitely not get benefits of new events etc) I recommend the following:


- Rename your existing ..\Hearts of Iron\ directory to \Hearts of Iron CORE\
- Update the C.O.R.E. shortcut on your Desktop to point to the new directory
- Install a new copy of HOI, patch it with the latest patch, all the inofficial hotfixes and leader/picture/poster packs
- Enjoy

This way you will have two separate installations, one for 1.05C and one for 1.05B + C.O.R.E.
