This question may have been asked and answered a hundred times, however I am new here a really would appreciate any help someone can give me.

Here is the situation:

A buddy and I have been trying to play HOI over the internet. He hosts the game as for some reason if I host it his computer will not recognize the existance of the game I am hosting. The game appears to go fine and we are in perfect synch untill percisely 0:00, at which time his games charges on at a normal speed and I stall at that time for a few seconds. When my time starts running again I am behind him in time and any orders I give my troops start to have serious lag. I then continue to catch up in time, and then stall and fall behind. The order delay problem inherent in this problem makes the game unplayable. Oddly, we played a game when we first got the game (we played USA and Japan) and we were never out of synch. Here are some facts which may be important:

(a) I am on a cable modem, he is on a dail-up;

(b) we always play the game at slow speed;

(c) I have norton anti-virus, which I disable while playing.

Thank-you in advance for any help.

Dude, how many days of real time does it take to finish a game? I tried HOI online with 5 or 6 people once using below normal speed. It took 4 hours to get to April 1936!!!
