I am trying to start a Punic War as Carthage, but there is no Syracuse in my game (Rome conquered it from Epirus). Do they emerge like Parthia? I looked in the new nations event file and couldn't find them.
Syracuse is in the game, what version do you have marshman
uh, the retail one?
no it isn't. it's part of epirus at the start of the game. then rome conquers it.
Not only is that an disgraceful accusation to make but it's also absolutely ridiculous. As if a pirated version of the game would create an independent state! I think you owe bobbo_nutt an apology, and perhaps in future you might consider that wandering around the forums like some sort of registration vigilante is not the most appropriate way to behave. It isn't an independent country unless you have some sort of "special" version of the game. i.e like a pirated one for example that doesn't have all the proper files.
how bout registering your game?

How bout you research the matter first, eh?

What obligation does he have to register his game? What obligation does anyone have? None, and if Paradox thought otherwise they could make all the forums registration only. They don't, so I suggest you take your pathetic witch hunt elsewhere and leave worrying about piracy to Paradox.I don't think it's disgraceful at all to suggest he register his game. He absolutely 100% should. If you come here asking a bunch of questions you should register your game. There is no valid reason not to unless its like some distribution problem. If he's got a bootleg version he should simply buy the game, then register and I'll help him with anything about rome he wants to know. If he has a bootleg version, maybe he only has one scenario or an atypical one to start.
Paradox is a small company--I value the games they make. if someone keeps posting stuff and can't explain why they don't have a valid code they should man up and buy the game. Does Bobo nut have a registration code? why hasn't he used it yet?
What are you talking about. It's not a country in the game for the starting scenario which is exactly what i said. It's part of Epirius. I don't need to research it-I load up the game and see for myself. If you had the game you could see that also. I've played the start scenario like 300 times by now, I know Syracruse is a part of Epirus.
I don't like people getting bootlegged copies of paradox games. If they are unwilling to register for other than technical reasons than I presume that's what that have. That means less money for paradox and less work on games.
Who said anything about the starting the scenario? That was your assumption, not his question. Syracuse is indeed in Rome, which I find it strange that you hadn't noticed yet. Maybe you've got some sort of weird bootleg copy that doesn't have Syracuse? You should post a screenshot of your copy of the game, or your crazy Syracuse-less game might entice us to believe you've pirated the game.
Given I said straight up I was talking about the starting scenario you must have just not read what I wrote. his post looked fishy to me..plain and simple.
In turn, let me make this simple for you--if he wants me to make the effort to answer his question then he has to make the effort to register. If he has not bought the game yet, and decides to register the game (so far hehasn't ) I'm still happy to help. no register=no help from marshman.
I feel that way, lots of other people do too--you have made yourself 100% clear that you don't.
I think best thing to do to answer is to read the question. The OP wrote :

So an accurate and well formed answer would be related to the Punic (1st or snd) war.
About registration, I would love you to indicate where it's written that is mandatory? And since when? Another Wet dream of yours maybe, huh?
No registration is NOT equal to pirated goods , it might be because the supplier (STeam for exemple), or a 'political' decision. I do not and will not register my games (I owne all of P'dox games), because ... well I do not like to be in a box (the one some kind of people lov to push other in). Maybe the OP simply do not know how to register his game, so instead to complain him like one of those US customs Officers complain a tourist who do not abide to some exotic laws , you should have use a more moderate language.
Abuse over internet is one of the most coward attitude , to keep OUR forum clean (OUR mean yours , mine, other forum users ) we should not forget that is a community, not an infantery regiment.
I am happy to help folks out--who register the game. if they want me to answer--just register or provide a reasonable answer as to why not. i think I said "techinical(thinking of steam"--or other reasons. If the reasons are "political" then asking for help is kind of foolish imo because if you registered the game you would have access to tech support, CE, FAQ and all sorts of support stuff where your question may have been asked or answered. Seems like "political" is a kind word for that scenario right?
Also I never said I knew his game was pirtated I said "why don't you register your game". he hasn't answer yet as to why or elected to register his game. or buy an actual copy if he has the freeware version
think of it as an AI peace negotiations--that's my offer to the AI --it can accept it or deny it--whether it seems reasonable or not to you that's the only way I will do the deal. marshmans help=sure if you register your game.
You seem to be a bit confused here. As far as I can tell, this thread wasn't solely dedicated to you. I don't see any "to marshman" in the topic title. If you don't want to help people who don't register their games, then just don't post in their threads. However much you try to ignore it, your first post was rude and faulty. No, he doesn't need to register his game to get help, and yes, Syracuse is in the game.
