Marsellaise is great song! One of best national anthems ever? Finnish national anthem instead sounds more ice hockey song that natinoal anthem.

I don't like its symbol...
you see we are in 2008 and the Marseillaise is a song about war and death...well, i can't express it in english ! :)
This is completely off-topic btw.
I've not decided yet what i'll include or not. I plan to include only "song/speeches" mix but it's not decided.

Finnish unofficial "national anthem": Finlandia. There's lyrics which tells about smashing the Russians (the dark power). Pathetic, but beautiful melody.

If there will be nation specific songs, Finnish songs could be:

Finlandia http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XojVmivqDrA
Jääkärimarssi (Jäger march) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u6VqLkqxp7Y
"March of Finnish Cavalry during the 30-year war" (nice name :D ) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ff5X7VP9muc
Our Land http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=76VuvFaCeE0

you add the 1812 overture? that's a must for soviet players...

Is it the original 1812 overture or the modified Soviet-era version? The original had themes from "God save the Tzar", definite no-no on Soviet era. ;)

maybe you have to form an Orchestra and record one...

don't blame me if you got arrested copying this music :/ this version is quite good musically, but i think it lack the voice and those fancy stuffs. you might find a better version somewhere else.

(oh, wait, Berliner Phil orchestra???... with a Japanese conductor  Stalin will not be pleased)

you might also consider this music that i don't really understand :/
