Nugger I might jsut take off those Tank tracks when I get home later, and do the same as Sekinoss did, which is jsut do a kind of singal unite without 3d eye candy, how ever nicew it makes it look at a distance no one can see it so, ill do that tonight and look at textures, if I dont get time ill send sekinoss my tank so he can animate it or just finish it off, beacuse tomorrow I start my holiday and shal be traveling back to Germany for Easter and wont be back until the 23rd of April! and so I dont think to many people could wait that long for this Panther! lol :p

WOW! I just saw your renders KonigMaximilian! That is truly a bold ambitious Panzer you have here. It looks (im my opinion) exactly like the real thing! Especially the tracks and wheels, which in my opinion have vertices magnitudes above the rest combined. These are great results, especially for your first model.

Now on to your polygon and vertices problem. Yes I think Milkshape has a rather low maximum faces, which suits it's purpose (it was released as a (good) Halflife modeller). I thought you're going to have complex wheels, but not THESE complex. These look more like Tamiya models in my opinion, which are great stuff! Anyway, if you REALLY have to purge those lovely tracks, just back up them. They're simply too good to be lost!

On to making tracks my way, just outline them from the left view (of the reference drawing, which if you might not know can be set as background to speed up vertexing in the left view window or any other). As soon as a complete face is created, Duplicate and extrude them to the thickness of the tracks. (you might have to reverse the vertex order to get the right side). And you're done! Sure, it's nothing to be proud of (you should be with your tracks :) ) but it gets the job done. Hope this helps! Here are some screenshots of mine to assist:

About your tank, yes I'd be happy to finish off and credit you on the work. That's a nice mesh, and with some textures it could be a great sprite. AGAIN: DONT THROW AWAY THOSE TRACKS!:D

LOL Thanks, I wont throw away those Tank tracks thier to valuable for that, ill save them sepretly, so that they can be importedminto any future models l,ike the tiger series i have planned, its true i am amissiuse I didnt epect Milkshape to pack in this eraly, I though it go up to 20 Thousend Vertices but obviusly I was wrong  I havent had to do any thing as a background yet, but I found that yesterday out, that I could copy and past the thing im taking the idea form into the background part and jsut go around it :D :p

Which is quite neat!

ill also give you some texture idea for it, I could go even more detaild on the wheels if I wanted but the vertices count would sky rocket  right out of the roof..

ill send you it tonight some time, have you go any thing ells apart from you yahoo e-mail account that I can reach you on? if not I cna send it to Nighty and you can get it from him, or he can send it to you!

Plus the matter of fact its so detaild it purly beacuse im a perfectionist :p I hate for myself to do bad, did I mention I use to do some Mapping for games such as Aliens vs Predator 2 custom maps not for the actul game developer but for communaty but unforntunatly I was only playing around, and never released any for the game hehehe, also practiced wiht 3d modeling on maps mostly, so those have left me in good step for this kind of 3D modeling!

Yeah sorry I should've told you about the background before. It's a helpful feature and I thought you already found out from the MS tutorials on the net. Anyway, if you cannot send to sekinoss@yahoo.com, you can send them to

kuznetsov@yifan.net

or ask N!ghtY to forward it to me. What's wrong with sending it to Yahoo? Happy holidays

Sekinoss

I send my screenies you see that Nighty posted thier, to you last night but for some reason they bounced back and came back to me, so think yahoo dosnt like me

all the work you sew in those screenies I did of jsut by looking on the www.onwar.com site of the Panther 2, I didnt even think of puting as a background in the Milkshape :p so all you see was done by purly observation and a lot of time or laying down vertacies and boxes, and cylinders etc hehe in the right place and resizing etc, I did it the hard way, but when i do my Tiger series next ill do it them as background and work form them hehehe

That will save a loot of time!

My suggestion is to crop the respective profile images to their corresponding sides. Make sure you get the scale right, so all three images work together. Anyway, if you want me to finish your Panther send it to kuznetsov@yifan.net if sekinoss@yahoo.com doesn't work, or have N!ghtY bounce them to my address.

yes I think so. I suggest he finished his Panther by himself. Not only it's good learning experience, releasing a first sprite by yourself kind of make you confident and proud too. Once modelling is done, it's already more than halfway through the process.

I sent my Tank to you sekinoss, its mesh is finished etc apart from a few things, check you other e-mail address which is this one kuznetsov@yifan.net I sent it thier seeing as the other other one got bounced back?? either way use the 2 e-mail which has the tank in as I could finish the skinning or animation or the resizing or scrypting, beacuise my hause got burgaled, nothing taken though luckly but it is a tipe.

So could you finish it for me please dont think ill get around to doing animation and what not today, seeing whats happend, still got to tidy when I get home, or the rest of it anyway!
