Been running into this a lot ... when you take on a vassal (even an independant one with no current ties) you get hit with a badboy penalty. Um why? Isnt it a GOOD thing to take on a vassal ...isnt that the point of the game partly?? lol. Why on earth would this be considered an "evil" act?

long long time ago, on a forum far away, it was discussed just how evil diplo-vassalizing was, and why it increases bb. did it make sense to me. no.

Stealing vassals from other kingdoms I can see why that might be conisdered an unfriendly act ...but having a free count or Duke swear fealty to a king can in no way be a "bad" thing, it lies at the heart of the whole feudal system, a weaker court swearing fealty by its own choice for mutual economic and military strength ... that is a good thing not an evil act.

I guess if its WAD then I have to continue editing save game to remove the BB from this but I really hope it gets re-thought. Another point - I have never seen the AI offer or accept vassals, hardly suprising when there is a penalty for it ...you should get a prestige bonus for it not a penalty.

BB is also the fear you create...
If you vassalise a free count, you are more powerfull and it affect the balance of power.
So it's logical.

So because your are more powerfull and are better able to protect your vassals they dislike you more?
Logic is a wonderfull thing huh ;)

"Did you hear Bob the King of Scotland agreed to protect and serve the Duke of Strathclyde? What a wicked wicked man!"

:D

if you build training grounds or an academy, you become more dangerous. shouldn't these building then increase bb as well?
