Hi!

I have an idea that's pretty easy to put in game and it's pretty important too. Countries like Poland and Slovakia use various methods of attracting factory/job creation by creating low-tax areas, so big companies like KIA or Amazon have a great incentive to start building there and make jobs.

Cities Skylines just has to have this feature available for districts, so that we can set taxes there.

Same goes for residential buildings. The price of property-taxation varies from district to district. And since Colossal order, you have been asking for suggestions, this is a must have.

The short answer is yes.

The policy system in Cities: Skylines can work on a global (entire city) level and on a district level. I have not heard about policies that are specific to global or districts yet. A developer and/or TotalyMoo might be able to clear that up.

Edit: After writing my post, I realise that taxation isn't part of the policy system. But I have heard the developers remark that different taxations depending on districts will be possible.

Thanks for the feedback! The tax rate is set for each zone separately and there are different policies that can either lower or increase the taxation in a district. We'll definitely cover this topic more in detail in the future!

Please, I say please put in full fledged tax control per district too. It's worth the time.

Not just in Europe. My hometown, here in the states, has a business initiative thing as well. I forget what it's called. But it's very similar: A particular area of town has really low taxes in order to attempt to attract big businesses.

Indeed, being able to control the VAT, income taxes, special taxes (like a tobacco taxes, vehicle taxes, etc) and tariffs in relation to export/import is far more important than many requested aspects. Sure, these thing doesn't lie on a municipal level in reality but it's a game, who cares? Let me rule like I'm the king, let me tax them 100 percent if I so desire. They apparently can't vote me out of office anyways so... Taxes are after a method of ruling your lands. You could use it for something useful, like a tobacco taxes which makes people healthier... or something less useful, like a race to the bottom with those pesky "enterprise zones"... :)

That sounds too complex. Yes, there should be a few various different types of taxes, mostly to increase or decrease desirability for different types of businesses or residences. I also think that ordnances via SC4 are a good idea as well, in order to change some aspects of your city. But no need for all sorts of individual taxes.
