Dear Community, i have a problem with the new eu4 uptade 1.35.
1. Im starting the game via launcher, everything seems normal, normal loading files and graphics.
2. After that, I press singleplayer and see the normal TImeline but I can't click savestate on the left side on top of the starting Date. I mean I can click but it will not open eventhough I dont have some saves in it
3. After playing for 2 Minutes, doing my opening or waiting for 2 minutes my game will crash

I already reinstalled or switched the version to old and back to the new one
yes i restarted my computer too.

pls help me :(

I am experiencing the same problem. I did not know about point 2 there, but I hopped on to test it and I cannot open it either.

What I have noticed is that there is only one song populating the music player (different every time), and whenever the song finishes or you manually try to skip to the next one, the game crashes. Does the same thing happen for you?

I am running EU4 through Steam with the DLC subscription, if that makes any difference at all.

Bump, every time I've opened the game I load in fine, but as soon as I select a country and hit "play," the game crashes before the game is started.
Tried uninstalling and reinstalling, validating files, trying with and without mods, etc, nothing.

Devs?

Please do a full **clean** re-install:

- move any valued save games elsewhere
- "uninstall" in Steam-EU4
- manually delete both the Steam/SteamApps/common/EU4 AND Documents/Paradox Interactive/EU4 folders
- re-install game in Steam, run a Steam Verify when done.
- add EU4.exe to the exceptions list of your antivirus app; ESPECIALLY if you have Windows Defender, add it to the Ransomware "Apps Allowed Through" list.
- start the game with no mods active and test

In particular make sure there are no files or folders left under either the Steam EU4 or Documents EU4 locations, before installing again.

Does that help any of you?

Hi!

Thank you for the reply. I did manage to get it working following your steps. Interestingly, it seems like one of the mods was the culprit.

The "Stellaris UI Font" mod makes the entire playlist of music disappear, and once a song ends / is skipped, it crashes the game. When I disable that mod, it populates the list and the game does not crash when cycling through the music.

Of course, I have to go pretend I am an efficient worker now, but I'll try doing an extended playthrough later today. However, the immediate concern I had has been resolved.

Thank you!

EDIT: I see on the mod's workshop page that several other users are having problems with this mod and the music player. The developer is looking into it!

When a major new patch comes out for this or any game, it is expected that most mods will need to be updated by their authors before they will work properly again.
