I don't know if this have been posted before, sorry if it have been.
Personally i think that the naval tech tree needs a little bit of improvement (IE, one more model for Light cruiser with 1906/07 as historical date, one or two more models for monitors because some of them were deployed in 1905/06, not in 1914 and perhaps some kind of "advanced predreadnought" dating from 1904/05 because jump from 1900 to 1908 is too inacurate IMO.

Had a look at the v0.3 (latest January update) tech teams, only the British ones so far.

Rolls-Royce is in, huzzah, but is only a skill 7, seven gentlemen. Worse than any other British industrial tech team. Hopefully just a mistake. But then they got off quite well as the Anglo-Iranian Oil Company has in fact no skill level at all.

Other points, what happened to British Westinghouse and why does Marconi disappear in 1919 and become Metropolitan Vickers. It was British Westinghouse that became Metropolitan Vickers. A name change is in order it appears.

I'm not sure (if only for balance) there's a need for both GEC and Marconi as the British electrical engineering tech team and despite the evocative nature of Marconi GEC where the bigger firm (as far as I know).

The UK files were a very quick job put together along the suggestions by somebody who wouldn´t stop pestering us until we did something. I´ll look into it.

Could i suggest to include a super heavy BB in the secret weapons tree??

It would be ships like the Tillman BB for the US.

I've tweaked the aircraft tech tree a bit to include the sout fighter aircrafts made in 1925 (year where this game ends), the result, below:

and i've started to work in the Secret Weapons tree, any help would be apreciated, specially ideas.

Take a look further back in the thread. I made a secret weapons tree once, but lost it when my processor overheated. (screenshots exists) :)

Ok, i've found it, i will try to rebuild it.

what page was it on? I'd like to see it.

EDIT: Nevermind, I found it.

Progress report: See below :D

I'm thinking about adding a research in Secret Weapons dating from 1899 that it would allow to research the experimental plane, just after a secret weapon event, what do you think?

@Zuckergußgebäck I've not strictly followed your SW tree (keep in mind that it is not finished) , forgive me if you feel offended

Well not much to report, but i've done an important update, look what i've added to the aircraft tech tree:
aircraftpi8.jpg

It will allow you to research the experimental airplane after researching "first flying experiments" from the Secret Weapons tree.

This research, activates after this event:
eventro6.jpg

wich fires at 1 of January of 1899
and allowing you to research the first flying XPs:

Of course that if it don't like you, i will remove it. :D

Seems like a good idea - but what happens if an AI-controlled country chooses "no" to developing experimental aircraft? Perhaps the event should only have a single option, 'yes'.

Also, perhaps the event should be dated 1902? As I understand it, that's when the Wright Brothers began work on their aircraft that would first fly the following year.

Perhaps we ought to have an "Through the air!" event for the first nation to develop the experimental flyer? Naturally, it would only exist for a few gtreat powers (USA, Britain, France, Germany, Russia and perhaps Italy), which gives some nice bonuses, such as reduced dissent, better relations with random nations, supplies, etcetera.

Thanks!
About the AI, the chance is 90% for the first option and, obviously a 10% for the second.

I was thinking about making another event for those countries wich chose the second option first, it would allow them to start researching airplanes starting from 16_1 instead of 16_0, but it would be much later than this of course, let's say... around 1909 or 1910.
It would be tipical for minor countries and it would represent the airplanes that these minor nations purchased.

Another idea is making the first event only for mayors and that second one (wich isn't written yet) for minors.

I choose 1899 because betwen 1897 and 1900 there were many unsuccessful flying experiments like the Adler Aircraftand 1899 looked like a "neutral" year.

If this kind of system likes, i'm planning about making the same for Tanks and Battlecruisers and perhaps even for armoured cars, because... weren't they some kind of "Secret Weapons" by that time?.

PS: Would you guys mind if i include Armoured trains as a secret tech?

The question is what does an armoured train do (in game not literally)?

I agree to 1899 as a start date - I ought to put an honourable mention in to a certain local engineer and inventor, Sir Hiram Maxim, who worked enthusiastically on a powered flying machine between 1891 and 1894 as well as Percy Pilcher, who was developing an aeroplane powered by a petrol engine in London before he died in 1899. So we do not necessarily have to assume that 1902 should be the starting date... :)
